We are looking for a Senior Manager, Equipment Engineering, to join our team in one of today’s most exciting technologies. This role will report to the Factory Engineering Director and will be based in Fremont, CA. This is a fully on-site, in office role 5 days a week.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the long‑term equipment engineering strategy aligned with operational and company objectives.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of equipment engineers, technicians, and reliability specialists.
  • Establish clear performance metrics, goals, and development plans for the team.
  • Partner with cross‑functional leaders (Manufacturing, Facilities, Quality, EHS, Supply Chain, Finance) to drive end‑to‑end operational success.
  • Own equipment uptime, reliability, and utilization targets; lead root cause analysis and corrective action processes.
  • Implement best‑in‑class preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Oversee equipment qualification, validation, and change management processes.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards.
  • Lead planning, evaluation, and execution of equipment upgrades, replacements, and new technology introductions.
  • Manage capital and operating budgets for equipment engineering, including cost reduction strategies and vendor optimization.
  • Collaborate with equipment manufacturers to resolve complex issues and improve design and performance.
  • Champion Lean, Six Sigma, and other process‑improvement methodologies to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Drive standardization of maintenance practices, documentation, and SOPs.
  • Implement data‑driven insights and digital tools to optimize equipment performance.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure all equipment meets regulatory, environmental, and safety requirements.

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in equipment engineering, maintenance engineering, or manufacturing engineering roles.
  • 5+ years of leadership or people‑management experience.
  • Proven success improving equipment reliability, availability, and performance in a high‑volume production environment.
  • Strong knowledge of equipment automation, controls, and reliability engineering principles.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large capital projects and budgets.
  • Excellent communication, decision‑making, and stakeholder‑management skills.

Physical Requirements (optional):

  • Prolonged periods of standing and performing repetitive tasks.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. at a time.
  • Must have manual dexterity in order to assemble products as directed.
  • Must have excellent hand-eye coordination
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Salary Ranges:

$175,500.00 - $252,500.00
