We are looking for a Process Specialist to join our team in one of today’s most exciting technologies. This role will report to the Senior Manager of Manufacturing Engineering and based in Newark, DE. This is a fully on-site, in office role working night shift hours.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Manufacturing Engineers to launch new products, validate changes to processes, run trials, collect performance data, and ensure readiness for full‑scale production.
  • Provide on-the-floor technical support to resolve equipment, tooling, process, and material issues quickly to keep production running safely and efficiently.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce waste, improve cycle time, enhance quality, and increase throughput using Lean tools (5S, Standard Work, Kaizen, value stream thinking).
  • Assist in creating, documenting, and improving assembly processes, workflows, and work instructions. Conduct time studies, build trials, and validate new methods.
  • Lead or support structured problem-solving (8D, 5-Why, fishbone, DMAIC) to drive corrective and preventive actions that eliminate recurring issues.
  • Support line setup, first-article builds, PFMEA updates, and process capability checks during engineering changes, product launches, or capacity expansions.
  • Train operators and team leads as required on new equipment, processes, tooling, and standard work to ensure consistent execution and build quality.
  • Contribute to line balancing, takt time analysis, cell redesign, material flow improvements, and transitions from prototype to volume manufacturing.
  • Ensure standardization across shifts, lines, and operators.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and collaborative work environment.

Skills and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years of related experience, with specific experience in high-complexity production and welding.
  • 2+ years in a leadership role.
  • Computer systems knowledge including proficiency with MS Office programs.
  • Resourceful problem solver with proven ability to bring quick resolution to basic production issues with regards to equipment, process, or manpower.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and tact needed to interact with all levels in the plant.
  • Organized with good planning and time management skills.
  • Highly motivated self-starter, capable of self-management with little to no oversight.
  • Willingness to adapt to change and learn new technical and computer skills.
  • Ability to interpret designs to fixtures and tools.
  • Experience implementing Production systems; scale up manufacturing, volume production, linear production, using continuous improvement, lean manufacturing methods, and TIG welding techniques.
  • Understanding of Lean manufacturing principles.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours per shift.
  • Occasionally lift/carry up to 25–50 lbs.
  • Use hands and fingers to operate machinery controls and computers throughout the shift.
  • Visual acuity sufficient for product inspection and reading digital/printed materials.
  • Hearing ability to detect alarms and communicate effectively with staff.
  • Ability to perform essential tasks with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in required areas (safety glasses, safety-toed boots).
  • Demonstrates competency in written and verbal English communications to understand safety protocols, hazard communications, and standard operational procedures (SOPs) required to ensure the safety of the employee and others on the manufacturing floor.

Salary Ranges:

$61,500.00 - $88,500.00
