Envision Group is a leading Greentech company with a global presence across Europe, North America, and Asia. Guided by our mission to 'solve challenges for a sustainable future,' Envision designs, sells, and operates smart wind turbines, while also striving to produce green chemicals to reduce the global carbon footprint. Committed to advancing wind and solar power, electric batteries, and Green Hydrogen, we aim to create a zero-carbon world.
Green Hydrogen is pivotal to our net-zero mission, given its wide-ranging industrial and transport applications. Conventional hydrogen production from fossil fuels results in significant carbon dioxide emissions. However, our innovative technologies utilize renewable energy and water to produce green hydrogen emission-free. We're dedicated to enhancing efficiency, reducing costs, and scaling up manufacturing to meet the growing demand in the green hydrogen market.
To bolster our efforts, we're seeking a talented and motivated Project Manager for our H2COE Research & Development team that oversees the planning, execution, and delivery of hydrogen technology innovation projects, including electrolyzer product development, materials research, system integration, and pilot-scale demonstrations. This role ensures that project teams have sufficient resources, progress within scope and budget limitations, meet technical performance targets, and comply with applicable safety and quality standards. The Project Manager coordinates across engineering, chemistry, manufacturing, procurement, product management, and global partners (including China quality, product development and testing, and procurement teams).
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Planning & Execution
- Develop detailed project plans, schedules, milestones, and resource allocations for R&D initiatives.
- Define project scope with technical leads and ensure alignment with product roadmap and strategic goals.
- Manage project risk logs, mitigation plans, and contingency scenarios.
- Track progress using structured stage-gate, Agile, or hybrid R&D processes.
2. Cross-Functional Coordination
- Facilitate collaboration between mechanical, chemical, electrical, controls, and materials engineers.
- Coordinate with Product Management to align R&D outputs with customer requirements and commercialization timelines.
- Work closely with Procurement and Supply Chain to secure specialized equipment, components, and lab materials.
- Serve as the primary liaison between U.S. and China engineering teams, ensuring clear and culturally-aligned communication.
3. Technical Program Leadership
- Review engineering documentation, experiment plans, test data, and design revisions to ensure alignment with project objectives.
- Lead problem-solving sessions and root cause analyses when technical challenges arise.
- Support definition of engineering validation testing (EVT), design verification testing (DVT), and pilot deployment testing for electrolyzers and hydrogen systems.
4. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all R&D activities meet safety regulations, hazardous materials handling standards, and company EHS policies.
- Document risk assessments, safe operating procedures (SOPs), and incident reports.
- Partner with lab managers and EHS teams to maintain safe working environments in chemical labs, test bays, and pilot sites.
5. Budgeting & Reporting
- Prepare and manage project budgets, forecasts, and procurement plans.
- Track R&D spending, material consumption, prototype costs, and vendor expenses.
- Present regular status updates, KPI dashboards, and risk assessments to senior leadership.
6. International & Supplier Collaboration
- Manage timelines and deliverables from external partners, testing labs, research institutions, and component suppliers.
- Coordinate logistics for prototype manufacturing, shipment, installation, and field testing.
- Ensure documentation, IP, and data-sharing protocols are followed.
7. Documentation & Process Control
- Maintain structured project documentation aligned with engineering quality systems.
- Support the development of standard procedures, design records, BOMs, test reports, and lessons learned.
- Drive continuous improvement in R&D project execution through retrospective reviews.

- Familiarity with engineering lifecycles: concept, modeling, prototyping, testing, validation, and scale-up.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, process flow diagrams, P&IDs, and test data.
- Knowledge of materials science, chemical safety, and gas handling systems is a plus.
Project Management Skills
- Strong command of project management essentials: developing and enforcing project roles; use of task management and scheduling tools (MS Project, Jira, Notion, or similar); organizing critical discussion among stakeholders to inform decision makers and drive team alignment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi-disciplinary engineering efforts.
- Skilled at-risk planning, critical path analysis, and resource allocation.
- Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Communication & Leadership
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including concise reporting for executives.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams without direct authority.
- Experience working with international teams and navigating cross-cultural communication.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and facilitation skills.
- Proficiency in Mandarin is desired.
Safety, Quality, and Compliance
- Knowledge of laboratory safety, hazardous materials handling, and hydrogen system safety standards.
- Experience supporting QA/QC processes and engineering documentation controls.
