The Paint Shop Production Manager is accountable to lead, train and coach the Paint Shop Operations teams to assure business goals are met or exceeded in the Safety, People Quality, Responsiveness, Cost and Environmental business pillars
Technical Paint Shop Process knowledge is a key factor for the candidate to lead the teams to keep Control for Paint Operations Standards to guarantee best quality for paint appearance and performance.
Effective Communication among internal and external teams is required to deliver best results and guarantee best working environment.
You Will:
- Develop the plan during project phases to train people and drives the rest of the organization to assure follow-up to the plan that assures people training at every stage of the project as required. In addition to regular production training needs assessment to level up teams’ capabilities and skills
- Lead the execution of business plans and deliver annual performance efficiencies through continuous improvement process
- Engage and motivate teams to enhance business results meeting and exceeding the corporate targets
- Sense of urgency and crisis management towards any unforeseen circumstances
- Lead paint shop team achieving a balanced score card
- Achieve the assigned objectives through the setting of individual objectives for the team, monitoring and tracking performance, developing and motivating staff
- Participate in the development of the section's business plans according to the department objectives and track the tasks for proper follow-up and completion in a timely manner
- Ensure the effective implementation of policies, procedures and controls covering all areas of assigned activities. Prepare the budget required from the section and monitor financial performance versus the budget while ensuring unit activities are conducted in line with the approved guidelines
- Manage the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement and sustainability of systems, processes and practices considering leading standards, productivity, quality and cost improvement
- Drives periodic Quality revisions utilizing the process in the shop floor motivating participation of all sections of the shop for issue resolution in a timely manner to drive FTQ improvement
- Ensure all people in the shop to follow the Paint Shop polices and procedures
- Ensure non-disclosure of confidential information within or outside the organization
- Ensure adherence to the Health, Safety, Security, Environment policies and standards across all business functions under the department
You Bring:
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or Industrial Engineering
- Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in an automotive paint shop, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
Technical Skills:
- Proven wide experience of paint shop layouts, conveyor systems, robots (Fanuc, Dürr, ABB), and spraying equipment
- ECOAT systems with full understanding to the process controls and operating parameters
- Understanding of coating chemistry, paint material types (water-based, solvent-based), and application techniques
Soft Skills:
Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Ability to work under pressure and lead during emergencies or breakdowns.
Certifications:
- Diploma in Paint Technology or Coatings Engineering
- Certifications in Six Sigma (Black Belt), Lean Manufacturing
- OSHAS, NEBOSH, MBA are preferred.
