We are looking for an IT Specialist (MAC) to join our team in one of today’s most exciting technologies. This role will report to our Senior Service Desk Manager and based in San Jose, CA. This is a fully on-site, in office role 5 days a week

The IT Specialist (MAC) will provide hands‑on technical support for audiovisual systems and Apple‑based environments, with a strong focus on macOS device management, Apple hardware support, and integration of Apple technologies within enterprise AV and IT ecosystems at Bloom Energy. The ideal candidate will assist in implementing converged/integrated networked Video Conferencing and Telecommunications solutions necessary to meet the requirements of the organization. Establishes user-first communications systems by installing, operating, and maintaining video, voice, and data communications network circuits and equipment. An integral part of the role is regular testing and maintenance of all hardware and equipment in Bloom’s Unified Communications ecosystem.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of and passion for the user experience. Candidate must maintain a professional attitude, be a creative thinker, have strong problem-solving skills and possess good customer service etiquette.

Responsibilities:

  • This role requires a strong foundation in macOS support within AV and IT environments
  • Familiarity with Zoom Phone and Teams Phone
  • Provide executive IT support
  • Support Apple devices used for conference rooms, executive users, and creative teams
  • Ensure Apple systems integrate seamlessly with enterprise AV standards and collaboration platforms
  • Monitor and test conferencing systems and peripheral equipment and troubleshoot problems
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for macOS devices, including MacBooks, iMacs, and Mac Minis used in AV and corporate environments
  • Deploy, configure, and maintain Apple hardware and peripherals integrated with conference room, collaboration, and digital signage systems
  • Support and administer macOS operating systems, including OS upgrades, user profiles, security settings, and performance optimization
  • Manage Apple devices using MDM solutions (e.g., Jamf, Intune, Kandji, Mosyle) for provisioning, patching, and policy enforcement
  • Troubleshoot macOS compatibility issues with AV hardware, collaboration platforms (Zoom, Teams, Webex), and third‑party software
  • Configure and support Apple‑based AV control solutions, including macOS‑driven playback, content delivery, and presentation workflows
  • Partner with IT and AV teams to ensure seamless integration between Apple environments and enterprise infrastructure (networking, security, identity)
  • Document Apple‑specific support procedures, configurations, and best practices for AV and end‑user environments
  • Cooperate with management to develop staff and improve their skills
  • Follow industry’s standards and best practices
  • Assist with live web streaming, video conferencing, and video recording
  • Inspect rooms for damage, cleanliness, and document issues to be addressed
  • Troubleshooting A/V equipment when there are technical questions or problems related to A/V equipment and identifying appropriate solutions. Diagnose and resolve issues during live events, manage live feeds and provide on-site technical assistance
  • Troubleshooting prowess under pressure/at a fast pace
  • AV digital protocols knowledge/proficiency
  • Collaborate with and manage vendors, suppliers and system integrators for AV equipment

Skill Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands‑on experience supporting macOS in an enterprise environment
  • Proficiency with Apple hardware troubleshooting, including diagnostics, repairs coordination, and peripheral integration
  • Experience managing Apple devices via Mobile Device Management (MDM) platforms
  • Understanding of macOS security, permissions, and system settings in corporate environments
  • Familiarity with Apple technologies such as AirPlay, Apple TV, and macOS‑based collaboration tools
  • Jamf experience highly preferred
  • Ability to support macOS alongside Windows environments in mixed‑OS organizations
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical users
  • Maintain a high level of customer service and professionalism when interacting with executives and staff.
  • Experience with live streaming and video conferencing platforms
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to troubleshooting
  • Proven work experience as an audio, video, and communication technology specialist
  • IP Telephony, H.323, SIP
  • Must be able to work under pressure
  • Team player with customer service orientation
  • 5+ years of working experience with Telecommunication equipment
  • 5+ years of working experience with Audio Video equipment

Education Requirements

  • Certification in AV technology such as AVIXA (formerly InfoComm) CTS or equivalent experience
  • High School Graduate or GED
  • Crestron DMC-D or similar is a nice to have

Additional Requirements

  • Willing to work early mornings and/or weekends when needed
  • Able to travel between facilities in Fremont and San Jose
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs. unassisted

Salary Ranges:

$114,800.00 - $165,200.00
