Job Description:

Reporting to the Australian HSE Manager, the HSE Advisor supports the safe and environmentally responsible delivery of projects. This site‑based role provides practical HSE leadership, identifies and manages risk, and partners with project teams, clients and contractors to implement effective HSE systems and safe work practices.

Regular site travel within NSW, with occasional travel to Victoria, is required.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide on‑site HSE advice and real‑time support to project and services teams
  • Review and audit HSE plans, procedures and controls, including Principal Contractor requirements, inductions, traffic, emergency and environmental plans
  • Support incident reporting, investigation, root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Develop, implement and maintain project‑specific HSE plans and risk registers
  • Review contractor HSE documentation and monitor contractor performance
  • Lead and participate in safety walks, inspections and engagement activities
  • Report HSE performance and maintain accurate project HSE records
  • Coach and influence teams on HSE legislation, compliance and best practice
  • Build strong relationships with clients, contractors and internal stakeholders
  • Support injured worker management and return‑to‑work planning

Qualifications

  • Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 4 years’ HSE experience, ideally within energy, civil, industrial or construction environments
  • Strong knowledge of Australian WHS and Environmental legislation
  • Experience in incident investigation and reporting
  • Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and reporting skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and document management systems
  • Lead Auditor qualifications (ISO 9001, ISO 45001/AS 4801, ISO 14001) highly regarded
