Key Responsibilities
Global Cybersecurity Leadership
• Lead Fluence’s Global Services Cybersecurity Operations strategy supporting the secure operation of deployed BESS assets globally.
• Establish and scale a world-class cybersecurity operations capability supporting Fluence’s remote operations centers and field service teams.
• Provide executive leadership for cybersecurity governance across global service operations.
Security Operations & Incident Response
• Oversee 24/7 cybersecurity monitoring, detection, and incident response across OT/ICS environments supporting deployed energy storage systems.
• Establish and maintain operational playbooks for incident detection, investigation, escalation, and response.
• Drive the integration of monitoring platforms, security automation, and threat detection capabilities.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
• Ensure operational compliance with global cybersecurity frameworks including NERC CIP, NIS2, IEC 62443, NIST CSF, and the AES Cybersecurity Framework.
• Lead cybersecurity risk management programs across global service providers, subcontractors, and operational partners.
• Maintain readiness for customer audits, regulatory assessments, and cybersecurity assurance reviews.
Cross‑Functional Leadership
• Partner closely with Product Security, Engineering, Product Management, and the corporate CISO organization.
• Ensure consistent security governance from product design through operational deployment.
Customer & Market Engagement
• Serve as Fluence’s customer-facing cybersecurity executive for key strategic service agreements and long-term service contracts.
• Support commercial teams during RFPs, customer due diligence, and cybersecurity reviews.
• Represent Fluence in industry cybersecurity forums and working groups.
Team Leadership
• Build, mentor, and scale a global team of cybersecurity professionals supporting Fluence service operations.
• Establish global cybersecurity KPIs, operational metrics, and reporting frameworks.
• Drive a culture of security excellence across service operations.
Qualifications
• 12–15+ years of cybersecurity experience including significant leadership responsibility.
• 5+ years in OT/ICS cybersecurity or industrial infrastructure environments.
• Experience supporting energy, utilities, or critical infrastructure environments preferred.
• Demonstrated experience leading global cybersecurity operations or security programs.
• Strong familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks such as IEC 62443, NERC CIP, NIST CSF, AESCSF, and ISO 27001.
• Excellent communication and executive presentation skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers, regulators, and senior leadership.
• Experience leading globally distributed teams.
