The SR400 Express Lanes Project is a transformative $4.6 billion infrastructure initiative led by SR400 Constructors, a 50/50 joint venture between Flatiron Dragados and ACCIONA. Commissioned by the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) and Georgia State Road Tollway Authority (SRTA), the project will add two 16-mile express lanes from Sandy Springs MARTA Station (Exit 5) to McFarland (Exit 12), enhancing mobility along one of Georgia’s busiest corridors. With a peak workforce of over 500, the project also includes dedicated bus rapid transit stations and key bridge refurbishments. Construction is set to begin in late 2025, with substantial completion anticipated in 2031.
Job Description
Prepares layout drawings of tolerances, dimensions, materials and technical project data based on Construction Engineer guidance and design specifications.
Calculates quantities and dimensions within procedural and standard practice limitations.
Analyzes sketches, notes, and other input materials to determine best approach to complete drawings using Company approved software and programs.
Develops detailed drawings to accurately and completely describe construction design intent and critical elements.
Evaluates layout drawings to ensure drawings comply with engineering requirements, Company standards and project contract specifications.
Required Skills and Competencies
Technical degree or Associate’s degree in Computer Aided Design, Engineering, or related technical field preferred.
1+ year of experience with CAD required.
Developing knowledge of Civil 3D, Microstation, and other 3D rendering software preferred.
Ability to read and understand project plans.
Developing knowledge of constructability and construction practices.
Developing knowledge of 2D and 3D presentation of designs.
Self-motivated and able to take direction from leaders to deliver upon objectives.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work with both internal and external stakeholders effectively and efficiently.
Ability to multi-task and keep self accountable for timely delivery of objectives.
Ability and desire to learn aspects of CAD design.
