Job Description:
Location: China / Shanghai or flexible
This is a Data Scientist role that also includes oversight of China-based third-party test labs and the associated data. You will manage the complete test process—from sample shipping to final reporting—to ensure standardized testing and data integrity, while developing physics‑based and data‑driven models that capture the electrochemical, degradation, and thermal behaviors of prismatic lithium‑ion cells.

We are looking for an expert from battery cell industry (electrochemical), who also must be good at coding independently.
• Bachelor’s degree and above in Electrochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Electrical, Material Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• 3+ years’ experience in battery cell testing, quality management, and/or battery modeling/data analytics.
• Proficiency with PyBaMM (Python Battery Mathematical Modelling library).
• Strong understanding of cell internal parameters – positive electrode, negative electrode, separator, electrolyte, etc.
• Basic understanding of electrochemical models of varying complexity (e.g., Single Particle Model (SPM), SPMe, Pseudo‑2‑Dimensional (P2D)), as well as degradation and thermal pathways.
• Familiarity with battery testing methods and protocols (e.g., HPPC, EIS, cycle life, calendar aging, ARC).
• Ability to analyze abnormal test results (capacity, impedance, RTE, etc.) and propose corrective actions.
• Excellent written and verbal English skills.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Self‑driven, proactive, and able to take ownership of projects.
• Ability to travel up to 30% of time.
