Summary
The Fronius USA Welding Engineer Intern is both an independent actor and team player with a strong connection to the trade of welding and technology in general. This position is held to the strictest confidentiality requirements. This position may not have the opportunity for full-time employment and is intended to be a temporary position. The Welding Engineer Intern will support the Tech Support National team with various projects within the department for educational requirements.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Supports all aspects around Fronius Welding Technology and Equipment
- Carries out weld tests for clients or prospective clients and documents the results on Fronius Intranet (CRM, SharePoint)
- Organizes and executes products and weld tests prior to and during production start-up at customer location
- Evaluates clientβs needs in order to offer products, services, upgrades and overall solutions to their welding challenges
- Supports TSN with existing and prospect customers, providing guidance and support on Fronius Perfect Welding Products
- Provides technical support for the introduction of products/systems/processes onto the market
- Programs, troubleshoots and tests automated systems (such as robots and hard automation)
- Performs /Supports installations, commissioning and training at client locations
- Supports initiation of modifications/further development of Fronius products
- Facilitates and leads feasibility studies
- Effectively and positively deals with challenges and promotes teamwork practices to achieve established goals and objectives
Requirements
- Limited travel is expected
- Must be willing and authorized to travel throughout the USA
- Must have a valid driverβs license
- Currently enrolled as a full-time student in a Welding Engineering/Technology program
- Has a high interest in technology and enjoys the trade of welding
- Knowledge of Spanish and/or German a plus
- Strong knowledge of MS Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point
- Ability to work independently and/or remotely
- Candidate must be able to work with a team or alone as the need arises
- Candidate has a high degree of problem-solving skills
- Ability to work on multiple projects
- Demonstrated ability as a team contributor
- Must be eligible to work in the USA

- Ability to bend and reach, with repetitive motion

- Vision 20/20, with or without correction
- Physical demands of the job include standing, use of hands to manipulate objects, talking, hearing, looking, typing, walking, twisting, and bending
- Employees could be requested to lift, carry, reach above the shoulder, stoop, squat, kneel, and crouch
- Employees could be required to lift up to 70 pounds
- Employees will perform duties in an office environment and a field setting
- Employees will be occasionally exposed to tripping hazards
- The noise level in the work environment is usually low to medium
