Position Summary:
The Warehouse and Material Center Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the warehouse and material center, ensuring efficient storage, handling, and distribution of materials. Parts, and supplies are available, efficiently managed, and aligned with production or operational needs. The role bridges supply chain, warehouse, inventory, and production functions.
This management-level role requires expertise in warehouse operations, staff supervision, and compliance with relevant regulations.
Primary Responsibilities:
Material Center & Scheduling
- Develop and manage material requirement plans (MRP) to support production schedules.
- Ensure timely availability of raw materials, components, and consumables.
- Monitor inventory levels to balance availability vs. excess stock.
- Coordinate with procurement on purchase orders, lead times, and vendor deliveries.
- Track and analyze material usage, consumption rates, and forecast demand.
- Collaborate with headquarters to review and adjust production targets as needed.
Warehouse Operations Management
- Oversee receiving, storage, picking, staging, and shipping of materials
- Maintain proper layout, racking, and space utilization for efficient material flow.
- Implement FIFO/FEFO and other material handling practices.
- Ensure accuracy of transactions in ERP/WMS systems.
- Conduct cycle counts and stock reconciliations to maintain accuracy.
- Manage and oversee three teams: Warehouse, Material Center, and Data Analysis, ensuring their efficient operations.
- Assess inventory level and delivery timeline to support production targets.
- Monitor potential material shortages, develop contingency plans, and stay informed about market trends and supply chain dynamics.
- Collaborate with key functions, including Production, Warehouse, Logistics, Supply Chain, and Quality, to ensure seamless manufacturing operations.
- Ensure all purchasing activities comply with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies.
- Lead budget planning efforts, developing both long-term and short-term budgets to drive business growth.
Compliance & Safety
- Enforce safety standards in material handling and warehouse operations.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Implement 5S, Lean, or ISO practices for efficiency and safety.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, train, and develop material control and warehouse staff.
- Assign tasks, set goals, and evaluate team performance.
- Foster a culture of discipline, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Support cross-functional collaboration with production, procurement, and quality teams.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A masterβs degree in business, Supply Chain Management, Logistic or related fields is preferred.
- Over 5 years of management experience in Warehouse, Supply chain within a Multinational Corporation manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated success in delivering strong quantitative results in cross-functional settings.
- Proven experience managing a low-mix-low volume supply base.
- Extensive knowledge of ERP platforms, with strong proficiency in SAP being a significant advantage.
- Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to balance complex technical and business requirements to make informed decisions.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English is required; bilingual proficiency in Mandarin is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to warehouse operations.
- Forklift certification is preferred.
