We are looking for a Vice President of Production Quality to build, scale, and lead the plant quality function at Scout Motors. This role is foundational to our success and requires an experienced automotive quality leader who has stood up production quality systems in a high-growth OEM environment, led through launches, and inspired large teams—both professional and hourly—to deliver excellence every day. This is a rare opportunity to define the quality culture, strategy, and systems of a new OEM—while honoring Scout’s heritage and living our values.
As VP, Production Quality, you will own the end-to-end production quality vision and execution for Scout Motors’ South Carolina manufacturing operations. You will:

Build, scale and lead a high-performing, inclusive Production Quality organization across plant quality, supplier quality, warranty, and customer experience.

Design, implement, and continuously improve production quality processes within the Scout Motors Business Management System (BMS).

Lead structured problem-solving initiatives that reduce direct run rate issues, scrap, rework, and warranty risk—especially through launch and ramp-up.

Partner deeply with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Purchasing to embed quality into design, industrialization, supplier readiness, and series production.

Location & Travel Expectations:
- This role may be based out of the Scout Motors location in Columbia, SC.
- The responsibilities of this role require 4-5 days attendance in office with in-person meetings and events regularly.
- Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

15 years of experience in automotive production quality, with at least 5 years in an executive leadership role in an OEM; Expertise in new product launches

Bachelor degree is required, Master degree is preferred.
- Deep expertise in setting up Production Quality processes as part of the Scout Business Management System (BMS)

Strong background in manufacturing quality, warranty management, and customer feedback integration

Advanced capability in supplier quality management across global, multi‑tier supply networks

Proven ability to lead cross‑functional organizations at senior executive level

Track record of building and scaling large quality organizations

Knowledge in data engineering and data analytics as well as in implementation of digital solutions to facilitate a Data Driven Quality approach.

Strong strategic, analytical, and financial acumen, balancing quality, cost, delivery, and risk

Strong teamwork and communication skills, a high level of assertiveness as well as entrepreneurial thinking and goal- and result-oriented decision-making skills

Pay Transparency
Initial base salary range = $280,000 - $340,000
