We are seeking a technically skilled and motivated Engineering Intern to support the development of automotive seating systems, including front and rear seats, seat structures, mechanisms, comfort features, and integration with vehicle architecture. The intern will work under the mentorship of a Technical Specialist, gaining hands-on experience across the full product development cycle—from concept and design through release and launch.
Your Role
- Assist in the design and engineering of seating components and systems, focusing on mechanical integration, occupant comfort, and safety.
- Support the release of engineering documentation such as CAD models, drawings, and BOMs.
- Participate in supplier reviews and help resolve issues during prototype and production builds.
- Contribute to launch readiness activities including validation testing, regulatory compliance checks, and build support.
- Maintain documentation for design reviews, program milestones, and gateway deliverables.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
- Strong electro-mechanical background, with understanding of seating mechanisms, occupant packaging, and structural design.
- Prior internship or project experience in the R&D department of a leading Tier 1 seating supplier or OEM is required.
- Familiarity with CAD tools (e.g., CATIA, NX, or SolidWorks) and basic knowledge of lighting simulation or testing tools is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Fluent in English; German is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous internship or project experience in automotive or consumer product development.
- Familiarity with vehicle packaging, materials, and manufacturing processes.
