ABOUT THE ROLE
The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for the execution of the organization's supply chain function and global supply chain management. This role manages the competitive bid process, supplier qualifications, purchasing, and delivery for power-producing equipment and services for the development and construction of solar and battery storage projects.
Location preference is local to our Boise HQ, however, this role can be remote for exceptionally qualified candidates with utility-scale renewable energy supply chain experience.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Execute the supply chain strategy, supply base strategy, and supplier strategy. Collaborate with business partners to establish supply chain priorities in alignment with business strategy.
- Identify, evaluate, select, manage, and develop key partnerships, sourcing and contracting strategies, and supply chain practices for solar project supplier selection.
- Research industry benchmark data, best practices, supply market intelligence, safe harbor strategy, and regulatory and policy impacts to supply chain to effectively mitigate risk and meet business requirements and project commitments.
- Create, evaluate, and review opportunities to implement best practice sourcing, purchasing and supply chain policies and procedures. Ensure ongoing process improvement to streamline and improve supply chain practices.
- Develop and maintain approved supplier list and oversee the process for approving new suppliers.
- Manage relationships and interface with suppliers throughout negotiations, supply delivery schedules, and execution. Commodities could include solar modules, inverters, solar trackers, high-voltage equipment, SCADA, and battery containers as well as construction and design services.
- Own supply chain-related documentation, contracts, budgets, schedules, engineering and construction interfaces, project controls, and project reporting. Track all procurement initiatives and report out on a weekly and monthly cadence.
- Support the negotiation of pricing, freight terms, payment terms, and quantities with suppliers by partnering with the Director of Supply Chain.
- Responsible for aspects of hiring, training, and developing employees, as well as managing the department’s budget.
- Collaborate with individual department, as well as cross-functionally with other departments within the organization.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, economics, supply chain management, construction management, or related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in global supply chain management and custom contract negotiation. Renewables experience is strongly preferred.
- Technology: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, and as ability to learn company-specific software programs, tools, processes, and machines.
- Skills/Attributes:
- Proven track record of negotiating complex, high-value procurement and logistics contracts with global vendors.
- Strong knowledge in the market and/or product within the macroenvironment, and ability to use those market trends to drive business goals and decisions.
- Ability to create complex reports and dashboards using Excel tools, and create visuals to guide and support business decisions.
- Experience building and presenting complex proposals and ideas to senior leaders.
- Experience executing department strategy and being a key contributor/leader in achieving company and department KPIs.
- Highly skilled in explaining complex details clearly, ensuring everyone on the team understands.
- Proven ability to build, navigate, and manage complex interpersonal relationships and conflicts, fostering collaborative relationships internally and externally.
- Proficient in persuading others and gaining buy-in through compelling arguments and strategic communication for complex subjects
- Demonstrated ability to lead highly effective teams, both internally and externally.
- Self-motivated to work through complex problems and competing priorities, including a high level of detail and organization.
