We are looking for a Staff Engineer – Structural Analysis, to join our team in one of today’s most exciting technologies. This role will report to the Senior Principal Engineer – Structural Analysis and will be based in San Jose, CA. This is a fully on-site, in office role.

Location: This position will be fully onsite based in San Jose, CA

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Solve challenging mechanical design problems relating to Bloom’s fuel cell products for ensuring structural integrity and reliability
  • Use finite element analysis tools along with first principle calculations to support design and development from concept to product release
  • Identify product and manufacturing improvements based on in-depth structural analysis
  • Interface with cross functional teams on a regular basis for product development
  • Review and publish the analysis outcomes regularly
  • Participation in testing for validation of modeling results

Skills and Experience:

  • Fresh PhD in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with background in Finite Element Analysis
  • A strong understanding of the fundamentals of strength of materials and structural analysis
  • Exposure to Hypermesh for grid generation along with ABAQUS solver is preferred
  • Good understanding of non-linearities and stress concentration concepts
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Strong drive to learn new application areas and capable of modeling complex simulations
  • Ability to adapt to change in priorities effectively and meet deadlines

Salary Ranges:

$130,400.00 - $187,600.00
