Powerflex Supply, headquartered in San Antonio, TX, with a branch in Missouri and plans for additional branches, is an online retailer and supplier of electric fencing and livestock watering supplies, founded by experienced livestock grazers. It focuses on high-quality, performance-based products at competitive prices and was recently acquired by Soilworks. Range Ward, operating in both Canada and the USA, is a manufacturer and supplier of grazing machines, complementing Powerflex Supply's offerings and also owned by Soilworks. The two companies are in the process of merging to create a synergistic entity and improve service to our customers.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly skilled Staff Accountant to join our finance team. This individual will be responsible for managing key accounting functions with a particular focus on inventory management, cash flow analysis, and providing ad-hoc reporting as required. The ideal candidate will preferably have a strong background in Microsoft Excel, inventory management software, and QuickBooks.

Inventory Management:

Oversee the accounting for inventory, including reconciliation of inventory accounts, inventory valuation, and periodic physical inventory counts.

Work closely with the purchasing and logistics teams to ensure accurate tracking and recording of inventory transactions.

Analyze inventory turnover and provide insights for improving efficiency and reducing costs.

 

Cash Flow Planning:

Assist in the preparation and monitoring of cash flow projections.

Monitor and manage cash inflows and outflows, ensuring the company maintains optimal cash levels.

Work directly with the controller team to properly account for all cash inflows and outflows.

 

Ad-Hoc Reporting:

Prepare and analyze financial reports, statements, and schedules for management and other stakeholders.

Provide ad-hoc reporting and financial analysis on various business areas as requested by senior leadership.

Support month-end and year-end close processes by providing timely and accurate reporting.

 

General Accounting:

Assist in the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and monthly financial close activities.

Review and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

Support audits and prepare schedules as needed for external auditors.

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting.

Proficient in accounting software (Quickbooks) and Microsoft Excel.

Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP).

Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
