Lucid Motors is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, PWT Battery Special Projects to join us at Amp-1 in Casa Grande, AZ. Our opportunity will involve leading equipment procurement, installation and validation of new high-volume battery manufacturing lines in collaboration with systems integrators. You will hold special project lead status for critical-timing battery project execution.

You will:

  • Become Special Projects leader of engineering scope change and cap-up projects for product design changes and critical validations.
  • Design Ownership: Develop manufacturing process for unique manufacturing and prototype lines.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaboratively work with Product Design, Beta Team, Advanced Manufacturing, External vendors to drive manufacturing equipment and product tooling reviews.
  • Use 3D modeling and simulations to validate equipment and fixture designs.
  • Work under minimal guidance to identify project criticality and execute necessary tasks for equipment design.
  • Efficiently implement engineering solutions on manufacturing equipment based on product design changes.

You bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, STEM or related field, or equivalent relevant education and experience.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in high-volume manufacturing equipment and process engineering.
  • Experience with Battery Manufacturing Processes: Enclosure, Pack, Module. GD&T, CMM, OMM, leak test, adhesive dispense, accelerated curing, Hipot testing, Dielectrics, EOAT, Leak tests, End of line testing (HV/LV), AGVs, ASRS equipment, Vision with automated Fiducial offsets, Laser welding, bar code reading, vision system inspection, potting, HV testing, box cutting automation, ASRS, Potting Etc.
  • Preference placed towards candidates with deep understanding and experience with Battery Laser Welding.
  • Possesses strong presentation skills and communicates clearly and professionally at various levels both inside and outside the company.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time (domestic & international).
  • Deep understanding of AutoCAD, Catia/3D CAD.
