Overview
The Specialist, Logistics Process Optimization is responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously improving Just-in-Time (JIT) and Just-in-Sequence (JIS) material supply processes within an OEM’s in-house logistics environment. This role ensures that components and assemblies are delivered to the production line precisely when needed (JIT) and in the exact sequence required for assembly (JIS), minimizing inventory, reducing handling, and supporting lean manufacturing principles.
What you’ll do
Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:
1. Process Optimization:
- Analyze current in-house logistics processes and identify areas for improvement.
- Implement lean principles to reduce waste and enhance material flow efficiency.
- Develop and maintain standardized instruction for logistics operations.
2. JIT/JIS Supply Management:
- Ensure accurate and timely delivery of parts to assembly lines according to JIT/JIS principles.
- Monitor sequencing accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to maintain optimal levels.
3. Material Flow & Line Feeding:
- Design and optimize supermarket and line -feeding strategies.
- Implement Kanban system and other pull-based replenishment methods.
- Support layout planning for material storage and delivery points.
4. Continuous improvement & KPI Tracking:
- Track and report logistics performance metrics (e.g. delivery accuracy, line stoppage, late deliveries, ect.)
- Lead Kaizen workshops and participate in cross-functional improvement projects.
- Drive Digitalization initiatives for real-time material tracking and process transparency.
5. Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure adherence to OEM standards, safety regulations, and quality requirements.
- Maintain accurate documentation for audits and compliance checks.
6. Training and Support:
- Provide Training: Train Line Feeding employees on proper material handling procedures. Ensure that the team understands the importance of accurate deliveries and follows documented processes.
- User Support: Provide ongoing support to users across departments who interact with SAP data. This may include troubleshooting issues, answering questions, or guiding staff through data management processes.
Location & Travel Expectations:
- This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Blythewood, South Carolina.
- This role is fully on-site and requires consistent in-office attendance, as well as participation in regular in-person meetings and events.
- Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

1. Experience:
- Proven experience working with SAP, specifically in modules related to materials management (MM), production planning (PP), or warehouse management (WM / EWM). Knowledge of SAP systems as they relate to the in-house logistics material flow environments is critical.
- Minimum 4 years in in-house logistics or material flow within an OEM or Tier 1 supplier environment.
- Strong understanding with Supermarket JIT/JIS Line Feeding production processes, parts, and materials used in automotive manufacturing.
- Experience with analyzing and redesigning material flow processes for efficiency.
2. Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s Degree (Highly Preferred): A degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or related field is preferred.
- Certifications (Preferred): SAP certifications or process optimization certifications (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean) are a plus.
- Advance knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and logistics optimization.
- Minimum of High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required for all roles at Scout Motors, Inc.
3. Skills:
- Experience implementing lean tools (Kaizen, 5’s, Value Stream Mapping).
- Strong SAP Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of SAP, especially in modules such as SAP MM, PP, and WM, as well as experience with SAP reporting and data management tools.
- Data Analysis: Strong analytical skills to assess data accuracy, identify discrepancies, and recommend corrective actions.
- Process Improvement: Ability to identify inefficiencies and optimize processes using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues related to data management or discrepancies in reference data.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and external partners.
- Project Management: Ability to manage projects related to system updates, process improvements, or SAP enhancements, ensuring they are completed on time and within scope.
- Attention to Detail: High attention to detail, especially when managing data entry and ensuring the accuracy of reference data in SAP.

Pay Transparency
This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.
Initial base salary range = $95,000.00 - $125,000.00
