Role Overview
The SOMS at Fluence is responsible for managing long-term service agreements and customer relations for Battery Energy Storage Systems, ensuring safety, quality, and timely service delivery while adhering to Fluence’s core values and competencies. It requires relevant electrical engineering qualifications and certificates.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the Long Term Service Agreements for a Portfolio of Battery Energy Storage Systems including the Performance Guarantees and Warranties. Ensuring to meet the scope of work as agreed in the LTSA contract and manage contracted service onsite in a timely and cost effective manner, with high quality.
Responsible for day-to-day customer relations in terms of communication and acting as their first point of contact, as well as advocating their interests within Fluence.
Track availability for sites, including the recording of outages and excused events.
Document and track customer issues from initial occurrence to close
Scheduling and undertaking Preventive Maintenance activities, including the coordination of the work carried out and assuring the availability of required resources and Spare Parts. Also initiate Preventive Maintenance follow-up actions.
Coordinating Reactive Maintenance actitivites, attending site when required to investigate a limited variety of moderately complex technical issues.
Initiate, Perform and or participate in Root-Cause-Analysis to improve and exceed reliability and availability requirements of the systems.
Ensuring to call-off or order Spare Parts that are required for the Maintenance activities on Site.
Adhere to troubleshooting processes determining a course of action, based on established policies and procedures to solve routine problems and suggest improvements when encountered any.
Proactively investigate issues on Data Acquisition Systems or Asset Management software to diagnose and resolve issues on the Battery Energy Storage Systems. Timely escalating issues to a Senior Service Engineer if required.
Acting as the interface between other functional groups including the 24/7 monitoring team, software, network & controls team, the Delivery team and the Safety and Quality teams.
Have a continuous improvement mindset, identifying and initiating modifications to procedures and methods as required.
Schedule approved contractors for maintenance and manage and train contractors according to safe systems of work, standard work instructions and control their invoices and payment.
Perform Safety Walks when on site and ensuring Safety issues are logged into the system. Initiate actions when unsafe or hazardous conditions are found and seek for support from a Senior BESS Service Engineer or Manager Services in resolving the issues when needed.
Initiate and support the creation of Site Emergency Response Plans and ensure that those are documented, reviewed and updated accordingly.
Perform or support customer trainings in O&M and FOS controls.
Expected to travel to Project sites for Maintenance activities.
Vocational education and training or Bachelor’s degree in electrical or electronics engineering or simliar engineering background and a minimum 2 years+ in electrical energy or a Master's degree without prior experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Able to independently resolve a limited variety of moderately complex technical issues and initiate actions to prevent them from happening again.
Strong ability to communicate complex technical information, demonstrating the ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical audiences
Demonstrated skills in prioristisation of tasks and objective risk based management and able to provide input to others in setting their priorities based on their own experience.
Has a good understanding of the needs and business drivers of customers and acting to it.
Demonstrating ownership of the responsibilities assigned and initiating improvements when needed
Experience working with a Computerised Maintenance Management System to record or follow-up on Maintenance tasks.
Good understanding of all the products of a Battery Energy Storage system including its O&M guide, Standard Operating Procedures and troubleshooting processes
Ability to maintain and expand productive working relationships
