We are looking for an experienced Software Developer Engineer in Test to design, automate, and execute testing for Nispera, our advanced APM (Asset Performance Management) monitoring tool. Nispera is a unified asset performance management platform that optimizes the operation and maintenance of renewable energy and storage assets, including battery, solar, and wind systems. The platform ingests real-time and historical operational data, market information, and user inputs to deliver actionable analytics, automated reporting, and predictive maintenance insights for asset owners and operators.

This role sits at the intersection of software testing and software development. You will be responsible for defining test scenarios, developing and maintaining test automation framework components, and analyzing test results.

This is a hands-on technical role for someone who enjoys building and maintaining automated tests, analyzing outcomes, and working closely with development teams to uncover and resolve complex system-level issues.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and maintain test scenarios and test plans suitable for complex software systems across web applications, APIs, services, and system integrations.
• Design and implement test automation framework components to support automated testing.
• Implement and execute both manual and automated tests to ensure high quality standards.
• Coordinate test activities within Agile teams, track and manage defects, and collaborate closely with Engineering.
• Continuously establish and improve test methods, tools and processes.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines.
• Support complex issues and escalations through deep technical root-cause analysis.
• Evaluate and integrate AI-assisted testing tools where they deliver measurable value.
• Work with cloud and containerized environments (AWS, Docker, GitHub) from a testing and CI/CD perspective.
• Produce and maintain clear and structured test documentation.
• Work independently with minimal guidance while contributing effectively within cross-functional teams.
• Support product development at all levels with a strong focus on product quality.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Quality Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience in software quality engineering.
• Hands-on programming experience with modern web frameworks (e.g., React, Sencha) and UI test automation tools (Playwright).
• Proven experience testing complex software systems, including web applications and automated API testing.
• Strong experience designing and maintaining test scenarios, developing automation framework components, and integrating tests in CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong SQL know-how for data validation, test analysis, and support of automated test scenarios.
• Experience implementing and executing test scenarios across multiple environments (QA, lab, pre-production, site).
• Experience using a Test Case Management System such as TestRail and capturing day to day activities in JIRA.
• Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
