Shipping & Receiving Clerk

This position performs the functions of shipping and receiving, material handling, inventory management and record-keeping for incoming and outgoing shipments of company products and vendor parts necessary to manufacturing of products; stores and distributes material, tools, equipment, and products within the warehouse, ensures accuracy and timeliness of all job functions; verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the following duties to quality and productivity standards.

You Will:

· Determines method of shipment and prepares bills, invoices and other shipping documents.

· Receive material - check and signs delivery slips, and assists with unloading as necessary.

· Inspect and verifies incoming goods against invoices or other documents, records shortages and rejects damaged goods.

· Accept or returns material according to established company procedures. Prints and affixes proper labels.

· Organize distribution and shipping of merchandise. Make necessary verifications against documents.

· May operate forklift, hand truck or other equipment to load, unload, transport and store goods.

· Maintain internal record-keeping systems.

· Contact transport companies and suppliers in order to expedite, trace or return material that does not conform to specifications or purchase orders.

· Assembles containers and crates, packs goods to be shipped and prepares identifying information and shipping instructions.

· Take inventory, maintain storage area, organize and place stock on shelves. Ensure area is secure at all times.

· Keeping up date inventories and invoices in the system.

· Assist Supervisor as needed.

· Locate material according to layout.

· Communicates pertinent information per shift.

· Examine shipment contents and compare with invoices to verify accuracy.

· Record discrepancies in order to make a failure warning if it is necessary.

· Shipping schedules follow up/attainment Generates and provides proper paperwork for transportation.

You Bring:

· High School Diploma or GED required

· 2 years related experience in shipping activities in a manufacturing or similar fast-paced environment

· Supervisory experience would be an asset

· Strong organizational skills

· Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)

· Proficiency with database applications and administration systems, specifically Microsoft Office

· Must be a highly motivated, service and team-oriented individual with an attention to detail

· Strong analytical ability
