Job Description
The Shipping & Receiving Technician is responsible for supporting the efficient movement, storage, handling, and shipment of materials and products throughout the facility. This role manages incoming shipments, outgoing customer orders, inventory movement, and shipping documentation while also assisting with the packaging and preparation of finished customer products.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This individual will play an important role in ensuring materials arrive accurately and on time and that customer products are packaged, documented, and shipped according to quality, customer, and regulatory requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Receive incoming materials, supplies, equipment, and other shipments; inspect incoming shipments for visible damage, quantity accuracy, conformance with packing slips and purchase orders.
Label and properly store incoming materials in designated locations.
Coordinate with Purchasing, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and other departments regarding incoming materials and inventory needs.
Prepare outgoing shipments to suppliers, customers, and other locations.
Assist with and ensure shipments are properly packaged, labeled, and prepared in accordance with company procedures and applicable shipping requirements.
Maintain packaging supplies and notify management when inventory levels require replenishment.
Work closely with Manufacturing and Quality teams to ensure products are released and approved for shipment.
Maintain organized, clean, and safe shipping, receiving, warehouse, and storage areas.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED. 2+years of experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, manufacturing, or a related environment.
Experience handling and packaging outbound customer deliverables for domestic or international shipping, particularly regulated and/or hazardous materials
Ability to accurately verify shipments, quantities, part numbers, and documentation.
Basic computer skills, including email, spreadsheets, and inventory or shipping systems.
Experience with the use of a forklift preferred.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to follow written work instructions and procedures.
Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
Ability to safely lift and move materials up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
