Job Summary:

This role manages Repsol Renewables North America’s (RRNA) ISO/RTO memberships, generator interconnection positions, and stakeholder engagement activities. The position serves as the primary point of contact for all generator interconnection matters, ensuring that applications, deposits, milestones, and filing deadlines are met accurately and on time.

The role also represents RRNA in ISO/RTO stakeholder proceedings, monitoring and communicating regulatory and market initiatives that may impact interconnection, transmission access, and project economics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, monitor, and actively participate in ISO/RTO stakeholder processes that impact RRNA’s interconnection and transmission interests.

  • Manage RRNA’s ISO/RTO membership applications and ongoing compliance obligations.

  • Serve as the primary internal and external contact for RRNA’s generator interconnection positions.

  • Coordinate and submit generator interconnection applications, including interaction with and oversight of third‑party consultants as required and identifying energy delivery options.

  • Manage the progression of RRNA projects through the generator interconnection study process, including:

    • Tracking schedules, milestones, and study phases

    • Communicating timelines, risks, and budget implications to project leads

  • Maintain a comprehensive interconnection calendar covering:

    • Study cluster windows

    • Application deadlines

    • Study deposits and application fees

  • Maintain a detailed interconnection tracking log documenting:

    • Status of each interconnection request

    • Study progress

    • Deposits, fees, refunds, and cost exposure

  • Establish and maintain internal procedures and workflows to ensure project milestones and required actions are communicated clearly and on time to relevant RRNA teams.

  • Support RRNA’s development and accounting teams by:

    • Tracking interconnection‑related payments and deposits

    • Ensuring costs are allocated properly

    • Coordinating timely payments and refunds

  • Perform other job‑related duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Authorized to work in the USA for any employer without sponsorship now or in the future.

  • Working knowledge of power flow and dynamic simulation tools (e.g., PowerWorld, PSS®E), including execution and review of steady‑state and transient stability analyses supporting generator interconnection applications.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

  • Strong balance of technical, organizational, and project management skills. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Professional presence with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, deadline‑driven environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (engineering, energy, or related discipline) preferred, or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.

  • 5–7 years of relevant experience in generator interconnection, transmission planning, or ISO/RTO‑related roles.

  • Experience with PSCAD / EMT modeling and familiarity with EMT‑based interconnection or model validation studies is preferred.

  • Prior experience working directly with ISO/RTOs (e.g., PJM, MISO, ERCOT, CAISO, SPP) is preferred.

  • Experience supporting renewable energy development portfolios (wind, solar, storage) is preferred.
