Role Overview
The Senior Manager – EPC Projects Sales & Delivery Support plays a critical leadership role across the full project lifecycle, bridging sales, proposal development, and project execution. The role is responsible for strengthening bid competitiveness, ensuring robust project handover, and supporting delivery teams to achieve commercial, technical, and schedule objectives across EPC projects.
This position acts as a strategic partner to Sales, Engineering, Procurement, and Project Management teams, ensuring alignment between customer commitments and delivery capability.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Proposal Support
Lead and support EPC bid and proposal activities, including technical, commercial, procurement and execution strategy inputs.
Collaborate with Sales to define project scope, pricing strategies, risk allocation, and contractual terms.
Review and validate cost estimates, schedules, resource plans, and execution methodologies.
Lead internal bid reviews and approvals, ensuring compliance with governance and risk management frameworks.
Support client meetings and site visits, clarifications, negotiations, and presentations during the tender phase.
Lead EPC opportunity prioritization meetings to align deal team deliverables, including procurement, FEED and Engineering requirements
Lead and manage a team of scheduling and document control functions.
Project Delivery Support
Ensure effective handover from Sales/Proposal teams to Project Execution teams.
Provide ongoing support to project teams during execution, particularly for complex or high-risk projects.
Monitor project performance against baseline scope, cost, schedule, and contractual obligations.
Support resolution of key project issues, claims, variations, and change management.
Provide guidance on best practices, lessons learned, and continuous improvement across projects.
Lead and manage a team of scheduling and document control functions.
Stakeholder & Interface Management
Act as a key interface between Sales, Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Project Controls teams.
Engage with clients, partners, subcontractors, and internal leadership as required.
Support alignment between customer expectations and internal delivery capabilities.
Support in the relationship management of BoP suppliers.
Governance, Risk & Compliance
Identify, assess, and mitigate project and bid risks at early stages.
Ensure adherence to contractual, commercial, and regulatory requirements.
Support audits, project reviews, and management reporting.
Leadership & Capability Development
Mentor and support junior managers and proposal/project support staff.
Contribute to development of standardized tools, templates, and processes for EPC bids and execution.
Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field.
10–15+ years of experience in EPC projects, with strong exposure to both sales/proposals and project delivery.
Proven experience supporting large, complex EPC projects from bid stage through execution.
Strong understanding of EPC contracts (e.g., lump sum, turnkey, FIDIC or equivalent).
Technical & Commercial Skills
Strong knowledge of project execution strategies, cost estimating, scheduling, and risk management.
Solid commercial acumen, including pricing, margin management, claims, and variations.
Ability to interpret technical scopes, specifications, and contractual documents.
Leadership & Soft Skills
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills at senior levels.
Ability to influence without direct authority in a matrix organization.
Strategic mindset with hands-on problem-solving capability.
Leadership and management of a multifunctional team of schedulers, document controllers.
High level of accountability, professionalism, and attention to detail.
Additional skills
Experience in industry-specific sector: energy, renewables, infrastructure, oil & gas, industrial, etc.
Experience working in multinational or cross-cultural environments.
Professional certifications (PMP, Prince2, or equivalent) are an advantage.
