Job Description:

The Senior Manager- Business & Process excellence is responsible for leading strategic transformation initiatives across the Software R&D organization to improve product delivery, engineering effectiveness, development quality, innovation, and operational scalability. This role works closely with Engineering, Product Management, Architecture, QA, DevOps, IT, and business leaders to drive changes in processes, tools, operating models, and ways of working.
The ideal candidate combines strong transformation leadership with a solid understanding of software development, Agile delivery, engineering operations, and organizational change.

Key Responsibilities


Transformation Leadership
• Lead end-to-end transformation programs across software engineering and product development functions.
• Identify and drive improvements in software development lifecycle, delivery processes, quality practices, governance, and team structures.
• Drive initiatives that improve speed, predictability, quality, scalability, and customer value.
• Track program progress, risks, dependencies, and measurable business outcomes.
Engineering and Delivery Excellence
• Partner with Engineering and Product leaders to improve Agile delivery maturity, planning effectiveness, and execution discipline.
• Drive improvements in CI/CD, automation, cloud adoption, platform engineering, and developer productivity.
• Help standardize best practices across teams while balancing flexibility for product-specific needs.
• Promote data-driven delivery management using engineering and product metrics.
Operating Model and Process Improvement
• Assess current operating models, team structures, handoffs, governance, and workflows to identify improvement opportunities.
• Drive changes that improve cross-functional collaboration between Product, Engineering, QA, Security, SRE, Support, and other stakeholders.
• Improve prioritization, dependency management, release planning, and execution governance.
Change Management
• Lead change adoption for new processes, tools, roles, and ways of working.
• Build communication, engagement, and training plans to support successful transformation.
• Partner with leaders and managers to address resistance, align teams, and sustain change.
Stakeholder and Program Management
• Work with senior leaders to align transformation priorities with product roadmap and business goals.
• Establish governance forums, KPIs, status reporting, and decision-making mechanisms.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
• Identify opportunities to improve engineering effectiveness through automation, AI, analytics, and modern development practices.
• Benchmark internal practices against industry standards and emerging technology trends.
• Capture lessons learned and institutionalized successful practices across teams.
• Build and promote a culture of innovation, experimentation, and continuous improvement.
• Identify emerging trends, technologies, and best practices that can create business value.
• Evaluate new ideas, solutions, and business models for feasibility, impact, and alignment with strategy.
• Partner with business and technology teams to pilot and scale innovative solutions.
• Support digital transformation initiatives including automation, AI, analytics, and new ways of working


Required Qualifications


• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or related field.
• 14+ years of experience in transformation, engineering operations, program management, software delivery, or operational excellence roles.
• Proven experience leading cross-functional transformation initiatives in software product development or R&D organizations.
• Experience in innovation programs, digital transformation, automation, or technology-led change.
• Strong understanding of business process improvement, change management, and organizational effectiveness.
• Strong understanding of software engineering lifecycle, Agile methodologies, DevOps, quality engineering, and release management.
• Experience working with senior leaders in matrixed and global organizations.
• Strong analytical, stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
