Our Walnut Creek, CA office is conveniently located near public transportation (BART), is ideally situated for bicycle commuters, has plenty of free parking, and an abundance of eateries in the surrounding area. Position Summary:
Weโre looking for an experienced and driven Accounting Operations Manager to lead and optimize our core accounting functions across North America. Reporting to the Director of Finance & Accounting, you'll take ownership of our Order-to-Cash and Procure-to-Pay cycles, ensure timely and accurate closings, and drive automation and process improvements across multi-entity operations under US GAAP. You will have ownership over the core end to end processes related to the GL, AP, AR, Billing and Cost Account functions along with a team of direct reports executing on these functions daily.
Accounting Operations & GL Oversight
Oversee daily accounting operations across multiple North American entities (U.S., Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico) ensuring alignment with US GAAP.
Lead the General Ledger function, partnering closely with the GL Reporting Manager to ensure timely reconciliations and accuracy in reporting. Consolidate reports and share with other entities.
Execute and support monthly, quarterly, and annual closings with precision and efficiency, owning the preparation and review of journal entries and account reconciliations.
Accounts Payable (AP) Leadership
Lead and evolve the AP function to ensure timely processing, approval, and payment of invoices while maximizing vendor relationships and optimizing working capital.
Build scalable processes for high-volume AP operations including vendor onboarding, PO matching, payment scheduling, and expense classification.
Accounts Receivable (AR) Excellence
Oversee the full AR lifecycleโensuring accurate customer invoicing, proper application of payments, and timely collections.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Project, and Legal teams to resolve billing discrepancies and drive improvements in DSO.
Audit & Compliance
Serve as a key liaison for internal and external audits, ensuring accurate documentation and timely responses to audit queries.
Ensure compliance with internal control frameworks and SOX requirements where applicable.
Team Leadership & Development
Mentor, coach, and develop a growing accounting team; lead recruiting efforts and foster a collaborative, high-performance culture.
Promote continuous learning and support staff in achieving personal and professional development goals.
Champion automation initiatives and ERP optimization to streamline accounting workflows and increase team efficiency.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelorโs degree in Business, Finance or related field
10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in a managerial role
5+ years hands on experience with US GAAP, multi-entity accounting and intercompany transactions
Deep understanding of OTC & P2P operational excellence in a complex global org
Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or Microsoft Dynamics 365
Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills; ability to collaborate across global teams
Advanced Excel proficiency and working knowledge of PowerPoint and Word
Desired Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience with product costing and inventory accounting in a manufacturing or product-based environment.
CPA designation preferred; candidates actively pursuing certification are also encouraged to apply
ERP System implementation or migration experience
Big 4, experience in internal controls or internal audit is a plus
Prior experience consolidating transactions with entities in Canada, Mexico & Puerto Rico
Hands on experience leading Cost Accounting functions

Canadian Solar offers a competitive salary plus fully comprehensive benefits and performance bonus package based on an annual objective achievement. Our generous benefits package includes a 401(k) Retirement Plan, medical/dental/life/disability program, PTO and sick days.
The pay range for this position is $125,000 โ 145,000 USD. This range represents annual base salary only, without regard to location, and does not include bonus or other incentives or benefits that may apply. The pay range for this role is subject to change.
