Position Overview:

Solid Power is seeking an Senior Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our talented team of engineers and scientists working to revolutionize the battery industry through the development of next-generation, all-solid-state rechargeable batteries. This is a dynamic, fast-paced, and collaborative environment where the technician plays a crucial role in supporting the success of internal functional groups including electrolyte production, quality, R&D, logistics and operations. The Senior Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for the operation of facility equipment, maintenance, repair, and on‐the‐spot troubleshooting support which will be the primary focus of daily activities. 

Job Duties:

  • Assist or lead in the installation, operation, and maintenance of new and existing facilities support equipment, and physical plant assets and infrastructure
  • Keep track of maintenance schedules for all equipment using CMMS system
  • Coordinate preventive and repair maintenance with Solid Power staff and contractors
  • Maintain end‐to‐end lifecycle documentation for inventory of equipment/assets
  • Contribute to the development of new operational procedures and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Communicate results of work through effective data collection and documentation
  • Routinely handle or work around hazardous materials
  • Participate in the facility technician on-call rotation, supporting both Colorado locations
  • Other duties as assigned to support the Solid Power facilities team

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • 5+ years of journeyman level trade experience
  • 5+ years of facility maintenance experience, preferably in materials or chemical manufacturing
  • Wide range of experience with maintenance/repair/troubleshooting experience with utility and infrastructure support equipment such as pumps, compressors, chillers, inert gas distribution, HVAC, plumbing, electrical distribution/implementation preferred
  • Ability to read, understand, and comply with all company and industry safety regulations
  • Experience with building automation systems and other facility control systems (fire systems, security systems, etc.)
  • Structured problem‐solving and analytical skills
  • Flexible, ready to learn, attitude that thrives in a fast‐paced environment
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver heavy equipment and tools (up to 50 pounds)
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and crouch for extended periods
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights
  • Ability to withstand exposure to noise, vibration, and extreme temperatures
  • Ability to work safely in a potentially hazardous environment
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)

Hourly Range: $30.00 to $45.00/hour
