Job Scope

High level purpose of function.

The Senior Director of Manufacturing is responsible for ensuring that all manufacturing processes are efficient and cost-effective, while also meeting the needs of customers and other stakeholders. She / he oversees the planning, development, implementation and maintenance of manufacturing methods, processes and operations for new and existing products. Ensures the effective and SAFE use of materials, equipment, and personnel in producing quality products at minimum costs.

Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to)

  • Establish a Safety / Quality first culture within the manufacturing team
  • Prepare and manage annual budgets, capital expenditure plans, and cost control initiatives
  • Develop and implement manufacturing strategies (5 year plan) that align with the overall goals and objectives of the company
  • Maintain overall business and stakeholder relationships with the senior leadership teams in Lyten Ett / Unions / Customers / Suppliers.
  • Effectively communicate with other departments within the company, such as sales, marketing, and finance
  • Recruit, train, and develop a world class team
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure manufacturing performance and drive operational efficiency
  • Oversee the implementation of lean manufacturing principles and best practices to optimize workflows and resource utilization

  • Authorized to decide on investments according to role and policy.

Requirements

Educational background and previous experience required for the role

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing (MBA or a master’s degree in engineering or operations management is a plus)
  • 10+ years of experience in manufacturing leadership roles, with a proven track record of driving operational excellence
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, systems, and technologies
  • Experience with lean manufacturing methodologies and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions
  • Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment

Specific skills

  • Experience in managing large-scale manufacturing operations in a high-volume environment
  • Familiarity with industry 4.0 technologies, automation, and digital transformation initiatives

  • Solid language skills, including written and spoken English - Swedish is a must.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective stakeholder management
  • Proactive and results-oriented mindset, with a focus on achieving operational goals
  • Adaptability to changing priorities and a commitment to fostering a positive team culture
