We are looking for a Position Business title to join our team in one of today’s most exciting technologies. This role will report to Hiring Manager title and based in City, State. This is a fully on-site, in office role 5 days a week.
We are looking for Sr. Commissioning Program Manager to join our team in one of today’s most exciting technologies. This role will report to the Field Service Director and will be based in San Jose, CA. This is a fully on-site, in office role 5 days a week when not traveling.
Travel: Ability to travel roughly 75% to locations in the USA as needed, expected to be in-office approximately 25% of the time.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Manage commissioning and field checks of new multi-megawatt installations including for data centers, microgrids and other critical customers
- Drive reduction in time to revenue recognition by pushing pre-start and applicable commissioning site work elements upstream into reliable, repeatable factory processes
- Build cross-functional expectations with Engineering, Operations, Installations and Quality to ensure that Service safety and profitability are top business priorities.
- Foster field operational excellence by improving technician standardization and efficiency of work. Implement effective training resources and training programs to raise the field technician benchmark of troubleshooting, incident reporting and rounded level of technical experience.
- Build, document and implement scalable site upgrade process requirements and procedures that are scalable globally across BE platforms (fuel cell, electrolyzer, marine, carbon capture, centralized utilities, etc.)
- Ensure exemplary safety and performance during site construction and commissioning
- Track, manage, and report on site infrastructure repairs and upgrades
- Track, manage and execute assigned aspects of Field Service’s Site System Upgrade program
- Create and execute project operations budgets and schedules
- On-site coordination to drive projects towards completion
- Review on-site work and documentation to meet Quality guidelines
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics to be able to verify site layout matches designs and meets serviceability requirements
- Coordinate with Operations to verify shipments match site BOM and meet critical delivery dates
- Travel to customer sites to provide planning oversight and coordination as needed
- Creation and maintenance of department procedures and documentation
- Work closely with external customers and internal Finance department to develop and deliver project schedules
- Interface with Legal and Finance team during contract negotiations to provide timelines, guidance, documentation, and feedback
Experience:
- Awareness of safety protocols on job sites, OSHA certified a plus
- Field experience with an emphasis on electrical up to 480VAC preferred
- Familiarity with electrical, plumbing, and building codes
- On-site construction experience, managing contractors and superintendents
- Experience leading a construction team a plus
- Experience with Building Departments and AHJ inspectors, permits, etc. desired
- Experience managing many stacked, parallel, short-duration projects
Requirements:
- Minimum of 10 years of construction related experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, especially engineering, construction, manufacturing, or electrical related
- PMP Certification is a plus
- Exceptional soft people skills to manage customer expectations and cooperation
- Ability to think ahead and change course quickly as situations and demands change
- Dedication to quality and process improvement
