Position Summary
The Corporate Consolidations & Reporting team supports Deriva Energy’s business. Team members actively partner with the business to support a growing portfolio of non-regulated renewable assets. The position is responsible for consolidations, various aspects of corporate reporting to our parent company, company level financial statements and audits, and performing assigned internal SOX controls.
Responsibilities
Support monthly close process by assisting with consolidations and resolution of any out of balances
Complete assigned tabs in the quarterly reporting pack required to be submitted to Brookfield
Prepare quarterly unaudited financial statements for Deriva Energy
Prepare annual audited financial statements for Deriva Energy and Deriva Energy Parent
Complete any compliance requirements associated with corporate debt or other applicable items
Complete any assigned SOX controls thoroughly and by the due date
Analyze financial information and recognize significant variances, trends and irregularities; understand causes/drivers, and summarize concisely to management
Interact and support corporate personnel, external auditors, vendors and consultants as required
Support the growth of the business, development of new accounting systems, controls, and processes
Become knowledgeable of the company by reviewing/understanding financing and partnership agreements.
Complete ad hoc requests for internal and external parties or special projects, as assigned. This may include training on the use of OneStream, holding group training sessions, and preparing process documents for internal use.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with major in Accounting/Finance or related discipline
Three (3) years or more of increasingly diverse or complex experience in related field in addition to degree
Desired Qualifications
Five (5) years or more of increasingly diverse or complex experience in related field
Strong technical skills and working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and IFRS
Public accounting experience (Big Four/large regional)
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or working toward achieving their CPA
Experience with company consolidation and limited liability company/partnership accounting
Possesses and applies fundamental accounting and finance concepts, practices, and procedures
Experience with financial applications (i.e., NetSuite, IFS, OneStream, SSAS Cubes, etc.)
Experience using Microsoft products such as Excel, Word, Power BI, and Power Point
Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, and organizational skills
Proven problem solving and analytical skills
Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment and foster good relationships with teammates and business partners
Working Conditions
This position is located in Charlotte, NC.
This is an in-person position; employees should live within a reasonable daily commute to the designated office location
