The SR400 Express Lanes Project is a transformative $4.6 billion infrastructure initiative led by SR400 Constructors, a 50/50 joint venture between Flatiron Dragados and ACCIONA. Commissioned by the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) and Georgia State Road Tollway Authority (SRTA), the project will add two 16-mile express lanes from Sandy Springs MARTA Station (Exit 5) to McFarland (Exit 12), enhancing mobility along one of Georgia’s busiest corridors. With a peak workforce of over 500, the project also includes dedicated bus rapid transit stations and key bridge refurbishments. Construction is set to begin in late 2025, with substantial completion anticipated in 2031.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Segment Director to oversee and manage a specific segment of the SR400 Express Lanes Project, 1/3 of the total value of the Project (1.5B$). This role involves providing direction and support to operational and technical staff, managing subcontractors, and ensuring effective project execution.

Job Description

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, promoting a culture of safety on-site.

  • Oversee and manage the construction activities for a specific segment of the project, ensuring technical excellence and compliance with project requirements.

  • Develop and implement construction plans, schedules, and budgets for the assigned segment.

  • Coordinate with project managers, design teams, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of construction activities within the overall project plan.

  • Monitor and control construction progress, ensuring timely completion of milestones and adherence to quality standards.

  • Provide technical guidance and support to construction teams, ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.

  • Conduct site visits and inspections to assess construction conditions and monitor activities.

  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with the construction segment, implementing corrective actions as necessary.

  • Prepare and review technical reports, construction drawings, and specifications for the assigned segment.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or a related field. A master’s degree or MBA may be preferred.

  • Minimum of 12 years of professional experience in construction management, preferably in large-scale infrastructure projects.

  • Experience on managing Design Build or P3 Projects from the initial stages.

  • Previous major project Joint Venture experience is desirable

  • Experience in managing multidisciplinary Team

  • Knowledge of local standards and regulations in the United States
