At ACCIONA Energía, we are seeking a skilled Capex Estimator to support our growing portfolio of renewable energy projects across North America. In this role, you’ll prepare accurate cost estimates for wind, solar, and transmission projects, ensuring our bids are competitive and our projects are delivered with efficiency and quality. You’ll collaborate closely with contractors, suppliers, and internal teams, bringing deep knowledge of electrical and civil construction methods to help us deliver best-in-class renewable infrastructure.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop conceptual and detailed cost estimates for renewable energy projects.

  • Review project plans, perform quantity take-offs, and evaluate contractor/subcontractor proposals.

  • Support bid processes, including RFP preparation and analysis.

  • Track market trends (materials, labor, commodities) and report insights.

  • Propose cost-saving strategies and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.

  • Provide support during construction, including evaluating change orders and monitoring costs.

Required Skills and Competencies

About you:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in cost estimating; utility-scale renewable projects or large transmission/substation projects preferred.

  • Proficiency with commercial estimating tools (e.g., Timberline/SageCRE, QuickBid, On-Screen Takeoff, RSMeans).

  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, specifications, and market pricing trends.

  • Excellent communication and analytical skills, with attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with minimal supervision.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; AutoCAD experience a plus.

  • Willingness to travel 10–20% (domestic and international).

  • Valid driver’s license; fluency in Spanish is a plus.

  • Base Pay: $110,000 – $135,000 (based on experience, education, and skillset)

  • 10% Annual Performance Bonus based on individual performance and company metrics.
