RMA Technician 

The RMA Technician will work closely with the engineering team to triage and identify root causes of all Lunar field-returned parts. They will also categorize returns in Lunar’s root cause database, an extremely important part of Lunar’s internal analytics process. An ideal candidate is curious and motivated, with a penchant for both technical and logistical challenges.

On a given day at Lunar, you’ll likely…

Triage & Teardown 

  • Follow standard procedure from engineering to look at failure data and perform non-destructive Root Cause Analysis on returned Lunar products
  • Use tools such as DMMs, oscilloscopes, thermal cameras…etc to perform diagnostic procedures 
  • Maintain root cause database information with input from the Engineering team, propose modifications and help document on the ground observations. 
  • Create custom test stations to facilitate quick triaging and root cause analysis for various Lunar subsystems
  • Work with Lunar Failure Analysis team if further destructive analysis is needed 

Handling & Inventory Management

  • Help manage onsite inventory of returned parts with Failure Analysis team
  • Disposition returned parts based on guidance from the engineering group.
  • Work closely with the team to ensure data integrity and accuracy of RMAs for internal analytics purposes

Desired Skills:

  • Self-driven and proactive, with a focus on identifying and improving process inefficiencies.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple engineering teams at Lunar.
  • Physically able to lift and transport items weighing up to 25 kg
  • Technical or engineering background preferred (e.g. associate degree in an engineering or technical discipline).
  • Experience with electrical testing instruments such as digital multimeters (DMMs), oscilloscopes…etc is a big plus
  • Experience with diagnosing PCBA failures is a big plus 
  • Experience with JIRA, Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets is a bonus

Our Compensation Philosophy: Our goal is to ensure that all Lunar Energy employees are fairly compensated. Please note that the hourly range information that follows is a good faith estimate for this position provided pursuant to the Pay Transparency for Pay Equity Act for California applicants. The hourly range estimate for this position depending on level of experience is: $35 - $58 USD.

The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package & benefits, will be at the company’s sole discretion, and determined by factors including but not limited to years of experience, job level, geographic location, and other relevant business considerations.
