As a Repair Technician, you will play a critical role in the production of our world-class vehicles and electric powertrains. Your primary responsibility will be to perform high-quality paint repairs and refinishing on vehicle surfaces to meet stringent cosmetic and durability standards. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in Paint, Body-in-White, General Assembly, and Powertrain to ensure flawless finishes and continuous process improvements.
Repair Technician for BIW- You Will:
- Remove surface imperfections (Dents/Dings) without needing body paint repair.
- Time management.
- Physical work includes pushing, pulling, gripping, twisting, reaching, lifting, repetitive motions, etc.
- Ability to follow a required specific sequence of steps in a process repetitively for an extended period.
- Demonstrated ability to perform standardized work processes and defined work instructions.
- Working for extended periods.
- Lifting objects at various load levels.
- Use of complex tooling that requires specialized training.
- Wearing Personal Protective Equipment: safety glasses, vests, shoes, hard hats.
- Evaluates the assembly processes and equipment to look for continuous improvement opportunities.
- Ability to solve problems independently and in team environments at a rapid pace.
- Escalates any process abnormalities to the appropriate support groups and leaders.
You Bring:
- High School Diploma or GED required and typically requires a minimum of 2 - 4 years of paint and dent experience.
- Must have a valid driverβs license in the U.S.
- Must have the ability to work quickly while maintaining an elevated level of craftsmanship and attention to detail.
- Ability to solve problems independently and in a team environment.
- There is a frequent need to stand, stoop, walk, lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and perform other similar actions during the course of the workday.
- Must have a command of the English language, both written and verbal.
- Must be dependable, have good initiative, be committed, and be quality-focused.
- Flexibility to support any shift, including days, nights, and swing shifts as well as weekends and/or holidays as required.
