Quality Inspector

Headquartered in Fort Wayne, IN, WaterFurnace designs and manufactures ultra-efficient, renewable-energy comfort products that provide heating, cooling and potable hot water solutions for use in both homes and commercial buildings. We employ more than 350 people in R&D, Manufacturing, Marketing, and Sales roles across the US and Canada. For almost four decades, our Geothermal Heat Pumps, Water Source Heat Pumps, and Heat Recovery Chillers have been reducing energy usage consumption and increasing comfort in buildings around the world.

Work Hours: Monday - Thursday, 6:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., overtime as required and hours may need to flex at times.

Key Goals:

• Support operations and achieve throughput objectives via containment of suspect and non-conforming products.

• Support Quality Department to achieve quality and environmental objectives and goals.

Job Description:

• Learn all aspects of non-conformance area activities and perform duties on a regular basis.

• Perform in-process quality audits of production units as they are being built on both Mainline & Large Commercial production lines.

• Perform sort/containment inspection activities.

• Complete first article/receiving inspection activities.

• Support QA team members in department related activities to include continuous improvement projects, supplier quality projects, audits, vacations, (etc.).

• Internal audits for ISO 9001 & 14001.

Required Skills/Knowledge:

• Knowledge of HVAC systems or subsystems.

• Knowledge and experience using ERP/MES systems.

• Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and specifications

• Measure/test products with calipers, gauges, or micrometers.

• Operate electronic inspection equipment or software.

• Microsoft Software experience to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Additional Skills/Knowledge Preferred:

• Knowledge of WaterFurnace products.

• Experience using Epicor Systems

• Experience in Siemens TeamCenter

• Six Sigma Green Belt or better certified.

• 1 year Quality Inspection experience.
