ABOUT THE ROLE

The Project Manager independently leads complex construction projects, setting the execution strategy, proactively managing schedule and budget risks, and driving cross-functional accountability to meet contractual and compliance requirements. This role serves as the primary owner representative for delivery performance, stakeholder alignment, change control, and successful commissioning and turnover. This role requires utility-scale renewable energy construction experience. 

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Own execution readiness by validating scope, drawings, specifications, contract requirements, and project controls are established, and ensuring project documentation standards are implemented and sustained in Procore.
  • Drive regulatory, permitting, and interconnection readiness by confirming permitting status, ensuring regulatory conditions are satisfied, and verifying utility interconnection agreements are in place and aligned with schedule needs.
  • Lead schedule development and control by building and maintaining an integrated schedule with EPC and Pre‑Construction partners, identifying critical path threats early, and initiating recovery actions as soon as slippage is identified.
  • Direct procurement and logistics coordination by validating procurement plans for major materials/equipment, aligning delivery timing with construction sequencing, and actively managing delivery and inventory risks that could affect progress.
  • Establish project-wide safety expectations by implementing safety protocols and training plans with the EPC, monitoring compliance, and ensuring corrective actions are executed promptly when risks are identified.
  • Lead project kickoff and major activity kickoffs by aligning internal teams, EPC partners, and key stakeholders on strategy, milestones, roles, and project controls for consistent execution.
  • Manage project financial performance by owning CAPEX/EPC budget tracking, spend curve management, cost code governance, and rigorous review of EPC billing, invoices, and supporting documentation to support accurate payment recommendations.
  • Execute disciplined change management by evaluating change drivers, verifying documentation, assessing schedule/cost impacts, and ensuring change orders are integrated into project baselines and payment processes.
  • Coordinate quality and inspection interfaces by planning and supporting AHJ and Independent Engineer (IE) inspections, tracking outcomes, and ensuring quality assurance actions remain aligned to contract deliverables and schedule needs.
  • Lead commissioning, closeout, and turnover by managing punch list completion, verifying as-builts and O&M documentation, coordinating training for operations/maintenance personnel, closing contracts/final payments, and capturing lessons learned.
  • Collaborate with individual department, as well as cross-functionally with other departments within the organization.
  • Maintain organizational excellence in terms of project timelines and deliverables.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, business, or related field experience.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction project management, and;
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience executing utility-scale renewable energy projects.
  • Technology: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Procore, and an ability to learn company-specific software programs, tools, processes, and machines.
  • Skills/Attributes:
    • Advanced mastery of schedule and cost controls, including critical path analysis, recovery planning, earned value, EAC forecasting, and cash flow management.
    • Strong EPC contract administration and negotiation skills, capable of structuring clear change orders, resolving claims, and driving accountability to contractual obligations.
    • Technical fluency in utility‑scale solar and energy storage construction.
    • Risk leadership, adept at identifying systemic and emergent risks, quantifying impacts, and implementing mitigation actions that protect COD and budget objectives.
    • Stakeholder management excellence, able to build trust and effectively coordinate with utilities, AHJs, inspectors, lenders’ engineers, and EPC executives to clear critical path issues.
    • Quality and safety stewardship, ensuring QA/QC programs, inspection/test plans, NCR management, and HSSE requirements are embedded in the execution plan and measured against KPIs.
    • Clear, persuasive communication, producing concise, decision‑ready reporting for senior leadership and guiding the project team toward shared outcomes.
    • Team leadership and mentorship, setting expectations, delegating workstreams, coaching PM I/APMs, and reinforcing disciplined project management practices.
    • Self-motivated to work through complex problems and competing priorities, including a high level of detail and organization.
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
