Valmont Industries – Coatings Site, Miami, FL
Shift: 3:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m., Monday–Friday
Valmont Industries is currently seeking a Production Lead for our Second Shift at the Miami Coatings Site. We are looking for a highly motivated and talented individual to serve as the Galvanizing Crew Leader within our Global Coatings Division. This role is essential in coordinating equipment usage, materials, and team resources to maximize productivity across both hot‑end and cold‑end crews.
In addition to leadership responsibilities, the Production Lead will operate forklifts, cranes, and other material‑handling equipment. The role also includes verifying and tagging incoming materials, documenting product information with notes and photos, and entering all relevant data into the computer system with accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor galvanizing crews to ensure safe work practices and production of high‑quality finished products
Demonstrate high personal efficiency in achieving employee, department, and company goals
Safely and effectively operate the crane in the absence of the designated crane operator
Operate forklifts and other material‑handling equipment safely and efficiently
Ensure accurate piece counts, part identification, and labor reporting
Monitor and record completed work quantities on the inventory control tally sheet
Shift & Incentives
Second Shift Hours: 3:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m.
Eligible for:
Monthly Attendance Bonus: $200
Monthly Individual Target Bonus
Required Qualifications
High school diploma and 2 years of relevant experience
Ability to work with wood and small hand tools (tape measures, saws, drills, riveters, nail guns)
Ability to safely operate forklifts, cranes, and other material‑handling equipment
Ability to inspect products to ensure quality standards are met
Ability to bundle, crate, box, and wrap products for shipment
Ability to load trucks
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently throughout the shift
Ability to communicate and interact positively with coworkers
Strong integrity, work ethic, and commitment to achieving exceptional results
High awareness of safety practices
Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment
Highly Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of professional forklift or equipment‑operation experience
1 year of overhead crane operation experience
1 year of supervisory or team‑lead experience
Ability to identify and resolve practical problems
Ability to recognize hazardous substances and understand basic chemical‑safety responsibilities
