Repsol is seeking an experienced Production Engineer to join the Production Engineering team supporting Repsol's Eagle Ford Asset, to be based out of The Woodlands, Tx or our field office in Three Rivers, Tx. The Production Engineer will analyze, design, and plan the production engineering activities necessary for the integrated field development plan during the visualization and conceptualization phases and those necessary for the optimization of production and asset profitability during the operational phase.

Summary

The Production Engineer’s mission is to maximize returns from the Eagle Ford production in a cost-effective manner. To achieve this, the PE is responsible to continually evaluate the asset’s production against potential to identify and implement optimization opportunities required to achieve the asset’s potential. The PE is involved with all aspects of production from the sand face through to the sales point. PE involves five main processes including design/modeling, planning, monitoring, optimization and well integrity. All PE actions will drive towards the optimization of the asset’s production and profitability while maintaining compliance with all Repsol policies and Safety and Environmental regulations.

Essential Functions

  • Understand and validate the production back allocation process in Energy Components to analyze daily closing production figures and deferred production. Identify deferred production and establish a corrective action to minimize economic and production impact on the asset.
  • Compile and analyze available information related to reservoir qualities and surface infrastructure to propose optimized completion and artificial lift designs.
  • Analyze the current lifting systems for the wells and the asset to propose and implement opportunities for optimization relating to both production and profitability.
  • Utilizing both IHS Harmony and PROSPER, model and analyze a well’s productivity and potential. Identify any discrepancies between actual production and potential with the goal of improving productivity and ensuring each well’s potential is met.
  • Leveraging the PETEX programs PROSPER and GAP, model and evaluate the integrated “subsurface to surface” network (reservoir-wells-gathering/injection network) to identify bottlenecks and their possible causes to propose solutions aiming at optimizing the asset’s production and profitability.
  • Develop and coordinate the short term (1 year) production and injection plan in collaboration with the relevant disciplines.
  • Compile and analyze all budget inputs related to OPEX to conduct yearly budget exercises and identify opportunities for economic optimization.
  • Track and implement the annual data acquisition plan for production and reservoir requirements.
  • Continually identify, evaluate (technical/economic) and propose innovative Production technology strategies to improve well and asset operational performance and profitability and improving Safety and Environmental performance related to personnel, equipment and GHG emissions.
  • Manage the well integrity status for all wells across the asset to ensure compliance with Repsol Well Integrity standards and barrier identification.
  • Ability to effectively work within a multidiscipline team and matrix organization.
  • Ability to establish strong communication channels with the field personnel and required to conduct regular field visits.
  • Contract Holder for the PE discipline’s assigned contractors and associated contracts.
