Position Summary

Canadian Solar is seeking a corporate/commercial paralegal to fill a vacancy in its legal team at the parent company level. This position is ideal for a paralegal with experience in corporate law, compliance, contract management, and who is interested in international legal operations and renewable energy technologies. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills are a must. You will be supporting the parent company, as well as its subsidiaries in over 20 countries worldwide in the areas of manufacturing, solar and battery project development, and solar, inverter and battery sales. This is a full-time position, with hybrid work options available, located in the Greater Toronto Area (home office: Kitchener, Ontario).

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the review, execution, distribution, and filing of various agreements and legal documents
  • Coordinate the formation, registration, and dissolution of legal entities, including communicating with registered agents
  • Maintain records and document management systems
  • Assist with the organization and population of virtual data rooms
  • Provide day-to-day legal support to parent company and subsidiary operations globally
  • Assist in implementing policies and carrying out procedures related to compliance matters, such as anti-bribery/anti-corruption, confidentiality agreements and more
  • Assist in the development of legal policies, processes, and resources at the parent company level
  • Ensure that all activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and that transactions comply with Canadian Solar policies and procedures


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Paralegal Certification is a plus
  • Minimum of 3 years’ related experience (role will be tailored to experience level and more experienced candidates are encouraged to apply)
  • Previous law firm or in-house corporate/commercial experience preferred
  • Thorough knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe Acrobat
  • Experience with MS Teams, Docusign, PowerPoint, SharePoint and virtual data rooms helpful
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail and quality of work product
  • Ability to uphold standards of complete discretion and confidentiality
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, handle multiple projects, prioritize conflicting demands and meet deadlines
  • Creative, versatile and adaptable team-player, willing to work on shifting departmental needs with enthusiasm

Compensation & Benefits

Canadian Solar offers a competitive salary plus fully comprehensive benefits and performance bonus package based on an annual objective achievement. Our generous benefits package includes medical, dental, life and disability coverages, personal leave and sick days.

The pay range for this position is $65,000 - $115,000 CAD annually (subject to change). This range represents annual base salary only, without regard to location, and does not include bonus or other incentives or benefits that may apply. Canadian Solar is an equal opportunity employer.
