About Base

Base is America’s next-generation power company. We’re rebuilding the foundation of modern civilization–electricity–by deploying a vast network of distributed batteries that is transforming today’s fragile, centralized grid into a resilient and abundant system. We are engineers, operators, and creatives solving some of the most complex, interdisciplinary challenges of our time.

About the Role

The Outbound Distribution Supervisor is a natural problem solver with a keen eye for detail, capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Your strong communication skills enable you to effectively lead and motivate a team, ensuring productivity and accuracy in all outbound activities. The outbound distribution supervisor runs the team that picks, stages, loads, and ships battery systems (materials) to satellite warehouses or 3PLs. You own on-time, accurate, damage-free outbound, the last step before materials leave the Factory. Day to day you lead and develop the team, prioritize the workflow, plan loads that meet lithium-battery transport rules, complete all hazmat training assigned. Keep outbound in lockstep with the outbound calendar. You use performance data to find and fix bottlenecks, and you hold the dock to a high bar on safety, quality, and compliance.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the team. Supervise, train, develop, and schedule outbound staff: pickers, loaders, and drivers across shifts. Assign tasks, use people and equipment efficiently, and keep expectations and SOPs clear.

  • Plan the day. Prioritize daily workflow to keep productivity high and order processing times low.

  • Own outbound flow. Direct picking, staging, load planning, and shipping of Base Power product to all satellite sites and 3PLs

  • Hit the daily booked shipments. Ship the target share of orders within the daily cutoff with near-zero pick and quality errors.

  • Plan loads. Build truck loads that use cube efficiently while meeting DOT hazmat requirements for UN3480 lithium-battery transport.

  • Coordinate carriers. Help the Logistics Scheduler in communication pickups with carriers and logistics partners, track shipments and communicate to the recipients departure times and ETAs.
Work cross-functionally. Partner with inventory, deployment scheduling, fleet, and satellite Supervisors to resolve order discrepancies and keep shipments matched to install dates.

  • Paperwork and records. Prepare and verify shipping documents, bills of lading, manifests, and hazmat paperwork, before dispatch, and keep accurate records of order status, manifests, and delivery confirmations.

  • Quality checks. Run quality checks on outgoing shipments and catch and correct errors before trucks leave the dock.

  • Improve. Track outbound KPIs, report on them, and drive process changes that cut errors, cycle time, and cost.

  • Keep it safe. Enforce safety, PPE, and equipment SOPs on the dock and in the yard, and build a culture of safety and accountability.

What You'll Bring

  • 5+ years in warehouse or distribution operations, including one to two years supervising a team.

  • Working knowledge of picking, load planning, and shipping documentation.

  • Experience with a WMS and standard warehouse reporting.

  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and hold a team to standards.

  • Forklift or powered-equipment certification, or ability to certify.

  • Able to work in warehouse conditions and lift up to 50 pounds.

About the Team

The Warehouse & Materials team exists to ensure every part, kit, and shipment is exactly where it needs to be — at the right time, in the right quantity, and in the right condition — so production can move without interruption. Our work directly enables Base to build and deploy reliable energy systems by creating a materials operation that is accurate, disciplined, and built for scale. The challenges we solve are tangible and high-impact: preventing line stoppages, protecting inventory integrity, and designing material flow that can keep up with rapid growth. An exceptional candidate will be excited to build structure where it matters most — leading people on the floor while shaping the systems, processes, and KPIs that power Base’s manufacturing engine.

Please note: Base is a startup, which means priorities shift and evolve quickly. Your role may expand or change based on the needs of the business at any given time, so the responsibilities listed may not be exhaustive.

Our Values

  • First Principles Thinking: Question assumptions. Principles > rules.

  • Operate at Base Pace: Focus on what matters, act quickly, and learn by doing.

  • Give & Get Feedback: Be direct, be humble, and maintain a growth mindset.

  • Everyone’s an Owner: Follow through on commitments and own results.

  • Strong Opinions, Loosely Held: Drive clarity and make calls with imperfect information.

  • Committed to the Mission: Rebuilding the grid is a big challenge. We work hard because we care deeply about the impact we’re creating. We work in-person. It’s not a 9-to-5. We are all-in.

  • Fun & Optimism Coexist with Grit: Collaboration and celebration coincide with the intensity of building real things.

Do the best work of your life at Base.
