About the Site
The Trigeneration plant is a project plant will include two natural gas engines with total installed power of 18 MW, with the use of exhaust gases for steam production through two recovery boilers, the plant also includes two water-boiler boilers with natural gas burner with a total capacity of 116 Tn / h of superheated steam at 31.5 Barg and 285 ΒΊC and an absorption chiller fed with the hot water from the cooling circuit of the 1084 TR engines to cover part of the cold demand. The facility is located Altamira, Tamaulipas in MΓ©xico.
Position Overview
The Field Operator Technician provides the organization with a knowledgeable, multi-skilled, troubleshooting expert who operates and maintains a cogeneration power station. This position requires highly flexible individuals that work various shift schedules in a team environment. Invenergy will train extensively in the operations area to compliment your skills.
Responsibilities
- The O&M Technician will be a proficient team member performing operations, maintenance and technical support to achieve safe, cost effective operation and maintenance of the Altamira Cogeneration Plant.
- Support operations of the facility with local maneuvers during start-up, shutdown, normal and emergency conditions in accordance with operating procedures and instructions to maintain a safe and efficient operation, as well as report the conditions of the equipment to Control Room Operator maintaining proficient communication.
- Comply with and ensure that the safety and operating conditions of the equipment are met, through the compliance with operational guidelines, to ensure continuity of processes, with the minimum impact on costs and the environment.
- Perform assigned maintenance activities and assist in the identification and resolution of faults/problems in mechanical, electrical and control systems.
- Perform actions aimed at achieving the proposed technical and economic Key Performance Indicators (KPIβs).
- Prepare / release and repair the equipment that needs to be intervened for repair and subsequent acceptance, closure and commissioning, according to safety regulations, in order to comply in a timely manner with the planning of predictive, preventive and corrective maintenance of the cogeneration plant, as well as keeping track of the work done in your area, making sure the complete compliance with regulations and safety implement.
- Identify and correct unsafe acts and conditions, through continuous inspection of equipment and service lines, the application of proper operation and maintenance techniques to ensure reliable and safe operating conditions.
- Perform/direct housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean safe work environment and professional appearance.
- Execution of routine activities such as: process alignment, sampling, reading, routine routing, pump rotation, filter rotation and cleaning, etc. according to established procedures, of according to the operational guidelines, with the purpose of maintaining the continuity of the processes, as well as participation in the preparation of operational procedures.
- Record all relevant operation and maintenance events and deliver to the next shift in a detailed, clear and precise manner, in order to maintain the update of the conditions of the units and ensure the least deviation in the operations.
- Execute the training program at work, attend a 5-minute daily talk, Retraining Programs in order to guarantee their level of expertise and increase the level of skills.
- Comply with the monitoring of operations in the process area, which will be executed through routine rounds.
- Additional responsibilities and assignments will be designated by the Plant Manager with regard to years of experience and abilities.
- Work within and ensure strict adherence to all safety and environmental procedures.
- Participate in the safety related emergency brigades as required by law and in the scheduled drills to maintain the safety drills available in case of emergency.

- The Plant Operator will work rotating shifts and be subject to scheduled and unscheduled overtime.
Required Skills
- Minimum of three (3) years of directly related operations, mechanical, electrical or instrumentation and controls experience (I&C) experience in a power generation, steam production and chiller facilities preferably or a minimum of three (3) years of directly related mechanical, electrical or instrumentation and controls experience maintaining large industrial equipment.
- Education in plant operations or mechanical, electrical or instrument and controls maintenance.
- Experience in electric generating engines is a plus.
- Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
- Good verbal and written communications skills.
- Candidates must be willing and capable of becoming multi-skilled and be part of a self-directed work team in a team environment.
- Each technician will perform various degrees of both operations and maintenance.
