We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineer to join our NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) team. This role will focus on advanced SEA modeling, simulation, acoustic testing and sound pack development to support the refinement of cabin and interior acoustic performance across our next-generation electric vehicles. You will need to be focused on delivering excellent performance to our customers, strong self-starters, team collaborators, excellent problem solvers, with an ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
The Role:
· Deliver the full-vehicle acoustic package for world-class NVH performance while balancing mass, packaging and cost requirements.
· Develop and validate acoustic treatment solutions (e.g., barrier materials, absorbers, etc) through simulation and testing.
· Lead the development and execution of SEA models for full vehicle and subsystem acoustic simulations (e.g., BIW, closures, powertrain, ancillaries).
· Interpret SEA simulation results to guide design decisions and optimize vehicle acoustic performance.
· Work closely with vehicle integration, body, powertrain, and thermal teams to embed acoustic considerations into system-level designs.
· Support target setting and cascade process for vehicle-level sound package performance.
· Correlate SEA models with physical test data and contribute to model validation efforts.
· Perform, at a vehicle and component level, testing and assessments to improve airborne noise performance in prototypes and production vehicles.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor's in Mechanical engineering, Acoustics, Physics, or related field. Master’s or PhD preferred.
· Generally, requires 8+ years of relevant experience
· Experience in acoustic package development and optimization (sound transmission loss & sound absorption coefficient)
· High frequency airborne noise simulation experience with VA One and/or Actran, used for solving airborne noise issues, at the vehicle level and component level, for PTNVH, road noise, wind noise, overall transparency, OSQ
· Strong fundamental understanding of digital signal processing, psychoacoustics, and the use of sound quality metrics to record, track and report NVH performance in an appropriate manner
· Experience working with cross-functional teams
· Ability to influence design based on engineering principles
Advantageous:
· Experience with hybrid NVH modeling approaches (FE/SEA/coupled models).
· Previous experience taking a vehicle or powertrain from concept to production
· Experience in NVH characterization and fault detection using microphones, acoustic cameras, particle velocity probes, etc...
· Experience of Siemens TestLab and Artemis Suite
· Programming experience in Python/MATLAB® to facilitate data processing and analysis.
