We are looking for a Materials Planner to join our team in one of today’s most exciting technologies. This role will report to the Senior Manager Global Material Planning & Systems and is based in San Jose, CA.

Additional comments: The Materials Planner will lead the demand planning activities in support of California and Delaware Manufacturing. This position will manage process improvement initiatives to improve information flow, replenishment timing, material availability, maintain minimal days on hand inventory, optimize the setup of our ERP systems to ensure systematic and scalable improvement, recommend inventory levels, input to production schedules and supply plans. In addition the position will collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, buyers, commodity managers, warehouse, the logistics manager and logistics providers to ensure continuous material supply to support our customer demands.

We are looking for an experienced, confident professional with high energy, excellent communication and analytical skills and strong personal drive to succeed.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Establishes the material schedule in the ERP system by firming, releasing and tracking the flow of planned orders in the ERP system
  • Serves as a single point of contact to the Manufacturing organization on material availability
  • Works closely with procurement, logistics and other supply chain functions for material status and to align manufacturing plans and material flow
  • Drives transaction discipline, ensures that manufacturing reports each milestone operation in the ERP system tracks the timely close of work orders
  • Establishes and maintains ERP item planning parameters including manufacturing lead times, planning time fences, order modifiers and continuously improves data integrity in the ERP system
  • Ensures accurate and timely set up for manufacturing BOMs for all items. Monitors the integrity between engineering and manufacturing BOMs. Reviews and approves engineering change orders, planning bills of materials and deviation requests.
  • Revises the schedule according to work order specifications, established priorities, and availability of parts & material
  • Tracks the accuracy of manufacturing routings and works closely with manufacturing engineers on the optimization of all routing steps and standard operations
  • Monitors work order aging in the ERP system and continuously drives for reductions in WIP inventory
  • Collaborates with all functions to ensure buy in and adherence to the production schedule
  • Contributor to the implementation of all materials affected on Engineering Change Notices
  • Monitors accuracy of plan assumptions on a daily basis, communicate required adjustments to the rest of the materials team
  • Establishes supply/demand signals in the ERP system by firming, releasing and tracking the flow of forecast, work orders, and sales order
  • Collaborates with all functions to ensure buy in to the optimized production schedule

Skills and Experience:

  • BS or BA Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or Engineering years of ex 1-3 years eperience in Production and/or Materials Planning and Scheduling
  • Must have good verbal, written, communications skills. Must have proven problem-solving skills and ability to work with close-knit teams in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong ERP experience required. Experience using Oracle ERP and Agile PLM software – preferred
  • Solid understanding of/experience with MS Office
  • Experienced with Supply Chain analytics and attention to details
  • APICS (ASCM) Certification a plus

Physical Requirements:

  • Flexibility to work on any of the shifts, or in any area of the plant, based on production needs
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods on solid surfaces
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment in designated areas
  • Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment

Salary Ranges:

$70,100.00 - $100,900.00
