Summary/Primary Role:

This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of piping systems associated with geothermal wells, manifolds, heat exchange systems, and mechanical room connections, ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with state and local codes. They will support and lead piping installation and mechanical work for geothermal drilling and ground-source heat pump systems.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Install, assemble, and supervise piping systems for geothermal drilling and ground-source heat pump applications, including HDPE, fusion-welded piping, and mechanical room piping.
  • Lead layout, fabrication, installation, pressure testing, flushing, and commissioning of geothermal loop systems.
  • Interpret construction drawings, schematics, and specifications related to geothermal and mechanical piping.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable state plumbing/mechanical codes, OSHA regulations, and project specifications.
  • Coordinate with drill crews, HVAC technicians, engineers, inspectors, and project managers.
  • Supervise apprentices and journeypersons; provide technical guidance and quality control.
  • Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and system modifications as required.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including as-built drawings and inspection records.
  • Support project scheduling and material planning to maintain productivity and timelines.
  • All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma and/or GED or higher.
  • Must have an active PM-00, PM-001 or PM-002 license.
  • Must have active OSHA 30, Confined Space Certification and HAZWOPER.
  • Strong knowledge of geothermal loop systems, fusion welding (or willingness to certify), and pressure testing procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and mechanical drawings.
  • Demonstrated leadership and job-site supervision experience.
  • Strong understanding of safety practices and regulatory compliance.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites within the Northeast Region of the USA.

Supervisory Responsibility: 

This position does not have supervisory responsibility.

Expected Hours of Work: 

An Employee is expected to work a minimum of forty (40) hours per week. Non-exempt employees are eligible for overtime pay in accordance with applicable wage and hour laws, while exempt employees may be required to work additional hours as necessary to fulfill their job responsibilities. Overtime requirements will be determined based on the operational needs of the organization.

The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future. When determining an employee’s base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, and internal equity). Brightcore also offers a comprehensive set of benefits to compliment the base salary. The hourly hiring range for this position is $35.00-$38.00.

Travel Requirements:  

  • 100% travel required to different job sites within the Northeast.

Office/Remote Work Guidelines:

Recognizing the success of remote work, Brightcore operates in a hybrid model. Eligible employees will have the option to work remotely for two (2) days per week at their discretion, with final approval by their direct supervisor. This policy is subject to change at Brightcore's discretion.
