To join our team as a Market Outreach Assistant Intern. In this role, you’ll support outreach efforts by helping identify and connect with social housing providers (SHPs) and Community‑Based Organizations (CBOs) to raise awareness of the Energy Savings Program (ESP) and Energy Conservation Assistance Program (ECAP).

This is an excellent opportunity for a student, intern, or early‑career professional who is interested in community engagement, outreach, and learning more about energy efficiency programs.

The role can be 4 or 8 months in length with possibility of extension.

You’re a great fit if you can…

• Support outreach efforts to social housing providers (SHPs) and Community‑Based Organizations (CBOs) to raise awareness of the Energy Savings Program (ESP) and Energy Conservation Assistance Program (ECAP).

• Learn and share clear program information with partners, with guidance and training from the team.

• Assist with coordinating outreach activities, meetings, and community awareness events.

• Help maintain partner engagement through follow‑ups and basic tracking of outreach activities.

• Participate in multi‑channel outreach such as emails, phone calls, and in‑person events.

• Support internal teams by helping coordinate logistics and partner communications.

• Attend and assist with community events, including occasional evenings and weekends.

• Conduct basic research to identify potential partners and track outreach efforts.

• Share observations, questions, and feedback with the Market Outreach Manager to support continuous improvement.

Exciting candidates will have…

• 0–2 years of experience in customer service, outreach, sales, marketing, communications, or related roles (academic, volunteer, or co‑op/intern experience welcomed).

• Interest in or exposure to energy efficiency, sustainability, or community programs (an asset, not required).

• Currently enrolled in or recently completed post‑secondary education (college or university).

• A strong interest in community engagement, relationship‑building, and learning new programs.

• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with a wide range of people.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Outgoing, personable, and comfortable speaking with new people.

• Willingness to learn how to explain program benefits and help address basic questions or participation barriers.

• Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and access to reliable transportation.

• Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends as required.

• Willingness to travel within the province for events or outreach activities, as needed.

Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data/ranges, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications (e.g. JD/technology), for example.
