JOB DESCRIPTION: Manager, Tool Department

Summary:

The Tool Manager's goal is to facilitate a positive experience with Nextracker. They ensure that Nextracker's products and installations consistently outperform customer expectations and meet the highest quality standards while fostering customer loyalty by optimizing products to meet customers' needs and providing excellent technical support services for Nextracker products. The Manager for the Tool Department will focus on enhancing the customer experience surrounding the tools used for installing Nextracker systems, with a primary emphasis on Tool Inventory Management, Tool Maintenance, and the overall success of this critical aspect of our system installation.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain technical understanding of PV solar tracking systems associated tools
  • Have strong customer care experience and be able to communicate resolutions for customer concerns effectively
  • Supervision of multiple team members, including coordinators and technicians
  • Assure key documentation and training is available for all tooling
  • Oversee the daily project workflow of the team members in the Nextrackers Tool Department
  • Schedule onsite tool training, maintenance programs, subcontractor training, quality control
  • Provide customer field support for installation and quality control
  • Support Nextracker product procurement, logistics, and inventory
  • Plays a key role in cross-functional product teams, providing recommendations based on systems integration expertise and customer needs assessments and feedback
  • Supports product development, sales, and marketing as requested
  • Internal customer voice. An advocate for the customer within Nextracker

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of PV technology and its applications
  • Strong understanding of hydraulic and battery-powered tooling
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Experience in supply chain procurement and logistics
  • Knowledge of dealing with customer support
  • Extensive hands-on experience with photovoltaic tracking solar systems is a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities
  • Passion for solar is a plus
