Job Description:

The Systems Engineering Manager, based in Sorocaba, Brazil, will report to the Systems Engineering Director, based in Fremont California. You will lead a multidisciplinary team in the research, design, and development of advanced software and other engineering systems, encompassing data science, structural/geotechnical engineering, and mechanical engineering. This role will involve collaborating with stakeholders across multiple departments to understand needs and/or opportunities to develop tools and processes that make design stages faster, scalable, optimized and automated. In this role you will ensure that NexTrackerโ€™s internal design procedures are fully integrated and at the cutting edge of engineering practices across multiple disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive development initiatives in data science, machine learning (ML), and AI to enhance the design procedures of structures, foundations, mechanical and electrical components.
  • Oversee the integration of engineering principles into tools for simulation, risk assessment, and design validation.
  • Collaborate with product and software development Managers to drive full software development lifecycle for engineering applications.
  • Mentor and grow a team of engineers and researchers across multiple disciplines (Structural, Geotechnical, data science, among others).
  • Leverage data science and machine learning teams to update design procedures based on data-driven decisions.
  • Allocate resources, set priorities, and ensure timely delivery of projects.
  • Foster partnerships with academic institutions, labs, and industry stakeholders to advance research and development goals.
  • Work with product managers to translate business needs into technical requirements.
  • Liaise with structural/geotechnical/mechanical teams across multiple departments to validate models, tools and simulations.

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in related engineering fields (Civil, Geotechnial, Mechanical, Systems engineering).
  • 3+ years of experience in systems engineering, engineering software development, and applied research.
  • 1+ years in a leadership/management role overseeing technical teams.
  • Proven track record in managing the development of code-based tools for structural/geotechnical/mechanical analysis, or data-driven engineering solutions.
  • Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, C++, or similar for engineering software development.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, able to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated with a focus on connecting people and teams to achieve collective goals.
  • Experience in managing multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Fluent in english.
  • Experience in solar tracker design is a plus.
  • Masterโ€™s degree in related fields is a plus (Structural, Geotechnical, Systems engineering).
  • Publications or patents in relevant engineering domains is a plus.
