Job Description

The Manager, Material Management will lead a team responsible for the execution and continuous improvement of strategic supply chain initiatives across Invenergy’s renewable energy project portfolio. This team is responsible for aligning owner-furnished equipment (OFE) requirements and terms among stakeholders, as well as owning the receiving, tracking, and reporting of this equipment at active project construction sites. The Manager will serve as a key liaison between Global Sourcing, Construction, Engineering, Project Management, Logistics, and Suppliers to ensure adherence to delivery schedules and other key terms in supply agreements to support project construction objectives.

The position will be based in Chicago, IL and will report through the Global Sourcing arm of the Renewable Procurement group.

Responsibilities:

  • People Management: Manage, develop and coach team of direct reports on projects and assess performance for engagement and regular reviews. Establish team priorities, allocate resources and foster culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.

  • Program Management: Oversee creation, implementation, and continuous improvement of Global Sourcing Execution initiatives across the project portfolio. Support cross-departmental projects and process-related initiatives.

  • Equipment Receiving: Own the company’s equipment receiving program across the renewable project portfolio. Standardized receiving processes, scanning protocols, data management and identify and implement opportunities to improve material tracking. Ensure accurate and timely reporting of equipment status, deliveries, and inventory levels to key stakeholders.

  • Construction Management Support: Serve as a strategic partner to the Construction Project Management team on all matters related to OFE. This includes escalating and resolving equipment related concerns on site, managing OFE terms in EPC contract negotiations, and cataloging lessons learned across projects to improve future execution.

  • Supply Contract Management: Develop, maintain and continuously improve the team’s standard operating procedures regarding managing OFE supply contracts. Partner with Procurement leads and Legal teams to improve projects outcomes in regards to terms related to equipment deliveries, change orders, invoices, liquidated damages, and warranties.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 8+ years of total professional experience.

  • 2+ years of experience with supply chain management, operations, and/or procurement.

  • 1+ years of people management experience.

  • Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.

  • Willing to travel up to 25% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in supply chain management of wind and solar storage equipment and/or experience working in the renewable energy industry on projects that include wind, solar and storage plant design, and construction

  • Strong analytical, organizational, time management, critical thinking, and communication skills.

  • Ability to be adaptable and work in a dynamic environment alongside people with diverse interests and backgrounds.

  • Familiar with equipment supply and construction agreements.

Base Pay

$124,000.00 - 155,000.00 USD Annual
Bonus: 25% - 40%

The base pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position. Invenergy considers a number of factors when determining base pay offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education and skills.
