Role Overview
The Field Solutions Manager, Americas Operations (FSM) will lead technical teams (direct and indirect) in the resolution of technical problems and implementation of field solutions for the Americas. This role will require coordinating across company organizational boundaries. They will serve as a liaison between Manufacturing and Sustaining Engineering to develop solutions to system and equipment level issues; BESS hardware, software, and information systems; including key components e.g., batteries, power converters, controls software, IoT and core computing devices, data collection, and network components.

The Field Solutions Manager will:
Provide Technical leadership through problem identification, solution development, and field implementation.
Communicate proactively with all involved personnel to provide encouragement, identify problems, create solutions, and implement efficiency improvements.
Prioritize and resolve issues, through coordination relevant stake holders for adherence to timeline and cost effective solutions to minimize project impact in the region.
Suggest and support execute process improvement recommendations in the region/group based on metric data.
Develop, analyze and report metrics for the project issues in the region.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor of Science in Engineering required
Minimum of 5+ years of experience with BESS design, computer, electrical, and system engineering
Minimum of 3+ years of experience as a Staff or Systems Engineer required
Minimum of 3+ years of field or field support experience required
Experience driving complex emergent issues to their resolution.
Experience with quality programs, such as ISO 9000.
Experience commissioning and coordinating the installation of engineering systems, such as a battery energy storage system.
Experience navigating various engineering codes and standards, such as NFPA and others.
Support connecting engineering requirements to business requirements.
Knowledge of product lifecycle and product innovation.
Knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, and other project management methodologies.
Proven success on challenging projects where you made key contributions while demonstrating ownership, creativity, and initiative.
Ability to work in a manner consistent with the Fluence values of Leading, Agile, Responsible, and Fun.
Ability to manage time-sensitive deliverables and deliver them on budget, on time, and to the satisfaction of the relevant stakeholder.
Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively to internal and external audiences.
Solid skills on MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Desire to learn new skills, business applications and equipment platforms.
Effective in a collaborative yet informally structured work environment. Desire to take responsibility and initiative.
