Summary
This position will lead and directs specialized teams responsible for maintaining, repairing, and upgrading renewable energy assets, ensuring reliable performance. This role will report to the Associate Director, Specialty Service where they will oversee daily operations and full P&L management across multiple external projects, while fulfilling service requests for internal stakeholders. Plans and executes complex projects involving both internal teams and third-party providers. Provides expert guidance to facility management on financial performance and equipment reliability. Sets strategic direction for supervisors and coordinators, including operations, process improvement, business analysis, and O&M and capital budget planning. Drives operational excellence through continuous improvement and benchmarking, while ensuring strict compliance with safety and environmental standards and maintaining positive relationships with public and private stakeholders.
This position will be a Brookings, South Dakota based position. Relocation assistance can be provided.
Main Responsibilities
Provides oversight and guidance to Operations group for support of the site by the specialty teams (Central Services)
Interacts and provides substantive direction and information to public and private sector stakeholders, including local community leaders, asset landowners, and project lenders
Ensures O&M and capital budgets are appropriately allocated, managed and implemented for all team projects
Ensures all projects provide an adequate return on investment or significant value to the company, including assuring that the proper revenue and O&M projections are updated and achieved
Develop workforce plan to address staff strategies to include compensation, training, development, performance and labor relations to achieve a highly skilled diverse and inclusive workforce that meets the challenges of a competitive business environment in various areas in the country
Partners with trade schools to assure adequate pipeline of technical talent
Ensures health and safety environmental performance/compliance with all applicable state and federal permits including interaction with state and local authorities (including ERGOT, TRE, CAISO, etc.) as required by permit or other compliance mechanisms
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, or a related field
In addition to a bachelor’s degree, five (5) years or more of relevant work experience
In lieu of a bachelor's degree, High School Diploma/GED AND nine (9) years or more of relevant experience
Desired Qualifications
Knowledge & experience with electrical circuits, electro-mechanical construction principles. Field Of Study
Experience in overseeing contractors and administering programs relating to policy, contracts & procedures
Knowledge of Environmental, Health & Safety measures/controls for occasional training purposes as well as new program role out.
Work management processes, Maximo scheduling, contractor oversight, contract management, project management.
In addition, the Specialty Services Managers MUST have in depth knowledge and experience in the specific specialized field being managed

Having flexibility to travel with little to zero notice
No company provided truck unless one is available
This position requires to report to the Brookings, SD location 50% of the time and 50% of the time traveling to wind farms, conferences and other business related needs
